Few idly thoughts I've had.
** In the light novel Ichika ''does'' realizes the romantic potential in everything he's in. When Charlotte (as Charles) tells him (s)he thinks he's doing it on purpose, ''he really was''. He knows that if he tries to make a romantic move on anyone, then the rest of his harem would kill him. Charles, however, knows that being a tsundere will not score romantic points, so she becomes more Moe-ish and less violent in order to get his attention. And so far it ''works'', as Ichika is closer to her than the other girls. Similarly, when the girls ask him who's performance did he like best during his birthday party, Ichika chooses his sister in order to not incur the wrath of everyone else, and who in turn is also the safest should the wrath be directed at her.
** As to how Charles/Charlotte do generally manage to ''be'' less tsundere about it: honestly it is because of her upbringing. While the aftermath of her mother dying is undeniably hard on her and equally as rough as the others backstories, she still got to grow up in a much more relaxed, nurturing environment. With the other girls finding themselves falling off their families radars, losing their parents, suffering divorce, and in some cases ''not'' having parents at all, Charlotte is one of the very few who was actually raised normally. When you also take into consideration that Charlotte's exposure to I.S technology also came from a non-combat end (the daughter of a manufacture versus a child soldier or a girl who expressed her frustrations via violent kendo), and was trained in how to infiltrate as much as how to use her technology for combat, even the processes that surely helped feed into the violent tendencies of the other girls that unintentionally bleed over into their relationship with Ichika don't affect Charlotte as badly because she was also trained in non-confrontational means.

** In episode 9 of the anime, when overhearing that choosing the wrong swimsuit could kill any chance of a relationship with Ichika, Laura calls her second in command for help with this situation. Seems like a silly thing put in for viewer humour, right? It actually makes perfect sense, since A) Laura has been raised in a military environment, and thus would confer with her command staff before proceeding with any decision she is unsure of, and B) her superiors are in the military as a job, and so would have ordinary lives outside of the military, and thus be able to help Laura, who has been shown to have [[NoSocialSkills poor social skills]]. It turns into Fridge Funny if put into context: Laura gets advice about dealing with Ichika from a fellow SuperSoldier who, funnily enough, is an OccidentalOtaku.

* Why does Charlotte's fantasy about Ichika involve her being his maid, and thus vastly change her history? Because it would imply her origins remained lower class than in reality where she was taken in by the head of a continental-level important industrialist. A fantasy like that implies she still grew up in obscurity, and thus likely with her mother still alive and as her primary, if only, parental figure. It's ultimately a fantasy where both the kindest people in her life are still around, and the unloving father is not.

** I think it's a combination of slight exaggeration and ExactWords. In the real world, especially in places like Japan (where the series is made), women have a hard time finding acknowledgment in the workplace (VideoGame/Persona4's Naoto Shirogane and VideoGame/Persona5's Sae Nijima are good examples of this). The introduction of the IS likely spread word of woman suffrage across the globe. We just don't see it because the series take place at the school. So women are treated more friarly and (in certain areas) are dominant.

* The entire idea of women being dominant in society due to them being the only ones who can pilot the IS doesn't make much sense. Cecilia confirms that there are only 467 IS units worldwide and the key to their technology, the core, was never officially released. Assuming that a fourth of the student body graduates the IS academy each year, that would leave an excessive ratio of IS pilots to IS units. Furthermore, even if women are the elite in law enforcement, space exploration, or whatever it is IS are used for; at their core they'd still be rank and file troops taking orders from superiors who despite lacking the skill or ability to use an IS would still be more qualified to be in command regardless of their gender.
