* The Assault Rifle is known as the [=MA37=] ICWS, and is the UNSC Army's standard rifle, an earlier version of the [=MA5B=] and later variants seen in chronologically later ''Halo'' games. So why is an older variant still being used by the UNSC Army in 2552 when the original rifle was adopted in 2437? Essentially, if the [=MA5=] series is analogous to the [=M16=] series of today, the [=MA37=] is the equivalent of the [=M16A3=] or CAR-15, while the [=MA5B=], C and D are closer to the [=M16A4=] and [=M4A1=] and [[=M4A1=) Block II, more modern and modular variants of the base system.

** Also, the Field Marshal was spying on Noble Team at the Visegrad Relay and saw Kat hacking into the computer. After reporting this, the Marshal’s higher ups put a hit on Kat to demoralize Noble Team.

* Related to the above; Every member of Noble Team that dies, does so with a DyingMomentOfAwesome aside from Kat. However, as savvy as she is in combat, her greatest asset has and always would've been her technological skills. As a result, her DyingMomentOfAwesome is posthumous. The data she found and preserved, data that could've been lost had she not been particularly focused on retrieving anything that looked important rather than just destroying it so the Covenant couldn't get it, was essentially a ''decryption key for Forerunner data archives'', in essence having a hand in making Cortana who she is by the point of ''Combat Evolved''. Just like everything else, she made a contribution that changed the course of the battle.

* Kats’ death wasn’t a random sniper shot by the Field Marshal, it was an assassination. This is because the Covenant realized her technology expertise and the danger she possesses. With her gone, it is notable to see that Noble Team struggles with technology in the last missions.

* Why didn't the shipmaster of the ''Ardent Prayer'' corvette signal the supercarrier for help (or at least to notify them that the corvette was being boarded) after the ''Savannah'' was destroyed and unable to keep jamming their comms? HonorBeforeReason is why. Elite warrior culture would consider it shameful to report a boarding party that the Elites in charge can't take care of themselves, and they'd rather die in battle than admit that they needed help.

** Alternatively, the Elites' honor code makes it harder to convince them to turn their weapons on helpless, fleeing civilians, and they're much happier taking on foes who can fight back. Brutes, in contrast, have no such compunctions, and would consider all those terrified civvies as good punching bags and [[ToServeMan good eatin']].

** One troper was playing the game with a friend, and made the comment of "There's a reason they're called 'Spartans.'" He replied by saying it wasn't going to be like [[ThreeHundred 300]]. Thinking on it later, the troper realized that the situation at Reach practically ''is'' the Sci-Fi version of the Battle at Thermopylae.

Is that they are so much better than the people playing as them.
