* If humans possess the technology needed to produce maneuver gear powerful enough to propel human beings at high speeds to attack the Titans with blades, why don't they just build guns that fire larger blades that can cut through Titans and hit their weak point without throwing people at them?

* The Wall Cult has a lot of power and influence, and early on, Eren and company complain about what a pain it is when it comes to doing anything to improve defenses on the walls, and how much trouble it was just to get the rail-mounted cannons put up there. [[spoiler: The Wall Cult knows about the Titans in the walls. They're desperate to protect the integrity of the walls themselves because, at all costs, ''they must not be allowed to awaken''. The cult was afraid of the noise disturbing them!]]

*** "Small"? If the information-available-for-public-disclosure can be believed, the area within Wall Maria is significantly larger than ''France'' (within Wall Rose is about 2/3 of the total). They've got all the raw material they could possibly want and more.

** An omake following chapter three [[http://img.batoto.net/comics/2011/05/23/s/read4ddacf72c5b4d/140.png shows an illustration]] of how the Maneuver Gear operates: the blade handles each have a cable attached to one end along with two individual "triggers" for releasing and retracting the hooks.

Added DiffLines:

* What are the means of operating the 3D maneuver gear? Considering that all the soldiers in the series are usually dual wielding blades when they use the gear to travel, there seems to be no practical mechanism of launching the hooks manually or aiming them. Even the design notes don’t seem to have a description of how the user can release the hooks without his hands.

* Jean is extremely negative about humanity's chances against the Titans, and is very vocal about wanting to join the Military Police Brigade so that he can live a safe, comfortable life. Now remember that he's from the Trost District, which was safely within the interior until Wall Maria fell. Afterwards, it was flooded with refugees and became the new front line with everyone fully expecting it to be attacked by the Colossal Titan at any point. He went from being completely safe, to living with the constant fear of the Titans and probably witnessed the brutal toll fighting took on the Survey Corps. Little surprise he became desperate to escape that, and return to the safe life he once knew.

It has been confirmed that the official name is Levi.

* Almost all the people that fight Titans are short and very slim. It is outright stated that a lot of people are unimpressed at Rivielle being TheAce and being so scrawny and short. But when you fight by propulsing yourself through the air, swinging on ropes and aiming at a very precise weak point with All-Or-Nothing attacks, being small and light is ''much'' better than outright physical strength per se. So it is '''very''' [[JustifiedTrope Justified]].

* If kidnapping Eren was the primary goal of [[spoiler: Annie, Reiner, and Bertolt]], then why didn't the others help [[spoiler: Annie]] accomplish that mission? Simple. \n* In chapter 47, [[spoiler: Ymir reveals that she spent 60 years wandering around as a regular (mindless) Titan. It was only five years ago that she was able to wake up and regain her human form. She describes those decades as being trapped in an "endless nightmare", but doesn't recall exactly what she did during that time.....including having devoured Reiner and Bertolt's friend, Berrik. Bertolt states it was "the same" for them as well. If this is the norm for Titans, then that means ''all'' Titans were once human. And they all have the potential to wake up, and regain their human minds and forms. That means the ''only'' difference between shifters like Eren and regular Titans is that they were able to escape their LotusEaterMachine.]]

Not really fridge brilliance. Even though everything stated is true, it ignores the fact that the purpose of attacking the wall was to let the normal Titans get inside, something punching wouldn\'t accomplish, since the hole would wind up closer to the top than the bottom, making it pretty much useless.

* Why did the Colossal Titan kick the wall instead of punching it ? Possibly because [[spoiler: there was another Colossal Titan there]] but also, look at its body. On the rare ocassion in which we see it in full view, its body proportions are very inhuman: its torso is too thick and his legs are ''huge'', with a head much too small to fit in his body and thin, elongated arms. Its legs are obviously so thick to support its own weight and to have enough balance as not to fall immediately, but i probably also means that his legs are ''much'' more destructive than his arms.

No wonder he attacked her once he transformed; he was viewing her as an obstacle.

All that death, because of [[spoiler: two 11-year old children and a deluded 12-year old]].

* The Titans [[spoiler: in the Walls]] may or may not be sentient. If they are, that means they've been trapped for over a century and unable to do [[AndIMustScream anything]]. Little surprise that Pastor Nick is so terrified if that's the case.

* Marco looked remarkably relaxed and peaceful for someone [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe bitten in half]] by a Titan during battle. The other corpses were all twisted into unnatural positions, or had frozen looks of horror on their faces. At this time, most of humanity had been annihilated, but the majority of this was at the hands of their fellow humans. Those who gained passage aboard the ships were only a small fraction composed of the rich and powerful. The voyage was rough; about half [of the ships?] vanished without reaching the other shore. In the new world, great walls had originally been prepared. This new continent, we shall revere as sacred. Within these walls are the ideals of humanity. Within these walls, let us create a world eternally without strife."]] Suddenly, so many things either make horrible sense or leave even more horrifying questions in their place.
* Why didn't the Armored Titan ever show up at the battle of Trost? [[spoiler:Because Reiner decides to follow Jean's order to run to HQ rather than stick to the original plan - just look at Annie and Bert's hesitancy when he bolts. Also, they found out who's inside the Rogue/Abnormal Titan making them to reconsider their decision.]]
* The Walled City seems to have a serious problem with institutionalized classism, with the wealthiest and most talented being given the best and safest places to live, while everyone else is more or less expected to die to maintain the city. [[spoiler: The people who originally found the Walls and founded the City inside it ''were'' the wealthiest people in the world at the time. When they had to set up a system of government, naturally they would build it around the idea of preserving their own status.]]

FridgeLogic:
* Almost all the people that fight Titans are short and very slim. It is outright stated that a lot of people are unimpressed at Rivielle being TheAce and being so scrawny and short. But when you fight by propulsing yourself through the air, swinging on ropes and aiming at a very precise weak point with All-Or-Nothing attacks, being small and light is ''much'' better than outright physical strength per se. So it is '''very''' [[JustifiedTrope Justified]].
** Also TruthInTelevision, as any activity that focuses on speed and precision will result in a lean appearance. Gymnasts in particular are on the shorter side, as it's much easier to control their bodies and avoid injury while in close proximity to equipment.
** Since Rivielle is a near-legendary figure, people probably have unrealistic expectations of him. Plus, he is much shorter than most of the cast; this probably surprises people more than his scrawniness.
* A common FridgeLogic on a certain ImageBoard includes [[MemeticMutation Frodo Baggins]] asking why the humans don't just live underground considering they can produce wide range of three 100-feet walls in a considerably short period of time.
** As with a lot of the weirder aspects of the setting, this eventually gets commented upon, though not directly answered yet. [[spoiler: Apparently, the church has some conspiracy to keep things the way they are that has been insinuated to matter more than the continued survival than the human race.]]
** It can also be perfectly explained with practical reasons, such as the city lacking the technology necessary for the minimal infrastructure of an underground city. It could be difficult to build, and picking the necessary cattle and crops from the surface would be insanely dangerous. Underground cities exist since before current technology, but they need a very specific type of rock or soil or otherwise metal for the support. And it is very evident the city lacks the possibility of mining ores for such construction (or, you know, the actual excavation), that there are mines inside the walls is mentioned in passing, but come on, ''any materials inside such a small area would hardly be enough for building anything long-standing''. So, yeah, it is quite justified.
** There's also the fact that giant Titans are walking about, so while they walk on the surface, all of the earth below it trembles, which could cause a cave-in for the underground city.
** It turns out that [[spoiler:the humans aren't able to build the walls on their own. The walls were actually created (and filled) by dormant Titans.]]
