* Surprisingly, Hikigaya himself compares Miura's "more heroic than thou" attitude to Iida's. Interestingly, this behavior comes from a similar source of wanting to live up to a heroic ideal–though, in the latter's case, it's more because he's trying to act more like his older brother, while Miura is just generally that pompous in general, but is consciously trying to reign it in.

* Yaoyorozu and Hachiman both have low-power, high-versatility Quirks that are only as effective as their intelligence, creativity, and presence of mind can make them. They also have self-confidence issues related to this, but it affects them differently. Yaoyorozu's a TeenGenius who can think up multiple solutions to a given problem at once, but that also makes her very prone to [[ParalysisByAnalysis decision paralysis]], which is especially bad for heroics because battle and emergency situations almost never will give her enough time for her to determinate an optimal course of action. Hachiman instead thinks his mere presence in the Heroics Course is one big fraud, which ironically makes him very effective in a crisis because he's pretty much used to working under the stress of fearing that his next mistake will finish him. For additional irony, Yaoyorozu has come to admire him for his decisiveness and effectiveness when the chips are down. In contrast, Hachiman chalks it all up to lacking the luxury of hesitation when everyone else is "the real deal" and thus so much better than him.

* Bakugo wants to be a pro-hero more than anything, while Yui had to find her motivation much later. He is very abrasive and sees everything as a competition to be the best, while she just wants everyone to get along. They both are TheNicknamer, but Yui does it as a show of affection and friendship, while Bakugo does it so he doesn't have to put in the effort of remembering people's names.

* Yui and Midoriya both have qualities that make ideal pro-heroes in the making, possessing impressive Quirks, [[ChronicHeroSyndrome a desire to help others]] [[TheCape with a brave smile]], but are held back by their deeper insecurities; Midoriya, due to his years of being Quirkless, has a serious case of imposter syndrome and is constantly doubting himself (and it's only gotten worse now that he feels he hasn't truly accomplished anything on his own merits), while Yui's depression and low self-esteem makes her feel unfit to be the hero she wants to be. Finally, they both wish to emulate a person they look up to (All Might and Hachiman, respectively), but they are mainly motivated by subtly different aspects of heroism--Midoriya is motivated by [[ForGreatJustice Justice]], while Yui is motivated by [[ForHappiness Happiness]]. Both also have a friendship with Bakugo and give him a personal nickname he doesn't like, but while Midoriya's is a childhood nickname that's a BerserkButton, and he is genuinely intimidated by Bakugo's attitude, Yui's is due to her being TheNicknamer that simply annoys him, while she largely ignores Bakugo's attitude. Finally, both their Quirks can be shown to harm them, though while Midoriya ends up breaking his bones due to being unable to control the sheer power of his Quirk, Yui's is only a mild case of bruising from telekinetically moving her clothes for greater speed but making her body rattle around inside as a result.

* Saki and Hachiman are both hard-working loners with weak quirks who deeply love their siblings. However, Saki genuinely wants to pursue a career in the pro-hero business as a FashionDesigner. At the same time, Hachiman never bought into the idea of heroics and is only going along with it as far as it will take him towards his own personal satisfaction.

* Kawasaki is another non-hero student with a bad attitude, but she's right where she wants to be as a future FashionDesigner, while Shinso desperately wants to advance to the hero course.

Both are Hero Support students who spend much of their time working on their creations; but while Mei is a GadgeteerGenius who is obsessed with her inventions that she creates wholesale to the point she cares little for social interactions, Kawasaki is a FashionDesigner who makes clever use of what's already available, and has to spend long hours of work to compensate for a lack of genius talent, which hurts her sibling relationships whom she loves.

* To Yui. They both design Hero costumes and have an interest in Hachiman, but while Saki is a JerkWithAHeartOfGold who is secure in her goal in becoming a FashionDesigner, Yui is an AllLovingHero who is uncertain in her choosing the Hero profession. And while making new clothes is easy for Yui [[ClothingCombat due to her Quirk]], she has no talent for design, while Kawasaki does have skill with design, but has to sew everything the normal way.

* Miura and Kirishima are almost complete opposites. He's a HotBlooded, LargeHam whose Quirk grants him SuperToughness while being a close-range combatant. She's a SquishyWizard who must fight at distance and with a cool and confident personality. Kirishima also expresses enthusiasm and passion for any display of competition, while Miura views any unnecessary or out-of-hand conflict as stupid and pointless. However, they are both trying to [[BecomingTheMask Become The Mask]]--Kirishima tries to project a RatedMForManly persona in the hopes of overcoming his cowardice; Miura is implied to be just as self-centered as her canon-counterpart, but she's actively forcing herself to be nicer because she feels that how a hero should be.

* To Mirio. Even though they haven't properly met, Mirio does seem to be his upperclassman counterpart, probably more-so than he is for Mirdoriya. Firstly, the very nature of their DifficultButAwesome Quirks and how they responded to it; Mirio was a born optimist who worked hard to train his unwieldy Quirk into something that made him a pro in all but name, in contrast to Hachiman who is a self-identified cynic who also had to train like Hell (and get a few lucky breaks) to get to where he is now. Mirio's Quirk is a rather straight-forward intangibility power that he has mastered to the point that he's nearly untouchable in a fight, and has plenty of tricks and fake-outs that gives him an edge of unpredictability (and has plenty of CharlesAtlasSuperpower to make him StrongAndSkilled). Hachiman works best as a CombatAndSupport hero due to his high-versatility, low-power Quirk, but the sheer ''breadth'' of Quirks he has along with the [[InstantExpert knowledge]] he receives makes him a very formidable opponent. They're both the MrFanservice, but Mirio's shirtless scenes are a result of his power and he's clearly long stopped being embarrassed by it, while Hachiman is very insecure and not-at-all prepared to be the center of that kind of attention. They've both been touted pretty early on to be promising pro-heroes in the making, but Mirio is TheCape, while Hachiman is very much TheCowl.

* Yukino and Hachiman are BirdsOfAFeather, but they contrast heavily in their social backgrounds, relationships with their families, their quirks, and long-term goals for heroism. Yukino is from a very affluent family that’s tied to Endeavor (the top 2 pro-hero in the country). Her sister is also a popular up-and-comer who’s landed several lucrative endorsement deals. Hachiman is more middle-class with Workaholic parents. Yukino has a very strained relationship with her older sister, resentful of how high she’s climbed in the social ladder and is now determined to eventually outshine her. Haruno, for her part, is also something of a BigSisterBully who often provokes and belittles her younger sister and is more than willing to give a HannibalLecture on her sister’s idealism. In contrast, Hachiman adores his little sister and considers his relationship with her one of the most positive aspects of his life. Yukino’s Quirk is highly versatile and combat-oriented, while Hachiman’s is next-to-useless without a metric ton of backstage preparation. Finally, despite Yukino’s rather selfish agenda towards her sister, she genuinely believes in the merits of heroism and wishes to be a great one in her own right. Hachiman couldn’t care less about heroism and thinks it’s a gigantic society-wide scam; he’s only in it for his own selfish reasons.

* Yuigahama is an optimistic and spirited girl who always tries to see the best in things. However, she has relatively low self-esteem and honestly couldn’t see herself as being much of a hero despite her rather impressive Quirk. Hachiman is a cynical introvert with serious self-loathing issues and thinks he’d make a terrible hero — not only for his personality and weak Quirk but also because he thinks the whole occupation is near-suicidal.

* Hayama is basically the exact opposite of Hachiman. Hayama’s good-looking, charismatic, people-oriented, and has a [[FlyingBrick very heroic quirk]]. However, Hachiman is noted for his [[TheDeterminator determination]]; once he has a goal he’s adequately motivated for, he ''will'' achieve it or die trying. Meanwhile, Hayama has no real goals in his training to become a hero as he only pursued it because that’s what everybody expected of him. Consequently, Hayama has failed to make the kind of impact that Hachiman has had on class 1-A and has more or less faded into the background.

* Bakugo is a loud, aggressive, and thuggish BornWinner, with an impressive combat-oriented quirk, who wants nothing less than to be the greatest pro-hero in the world. Hachiman is a [[TheStoic stoic]] introvert who, at best, has a high-versatility, low-power Quirk, and no greater ambitions than to get his satisfaction, whether it be showing up everybody who didn’t believe in him, or [[spoiler:avenging his OnlyFriend.]] Beyond that, they develop an interesting [[OddFriendship understanding]] with each other because they are both incredibly driven individuals. Even Yukino notes that he and Bakugo are surprisingly similar in possessing excellent natural instincts and a bull-headed drive to succeed. Due to this relationship, Hachiman is the only one Bakugo seems to actually listen and defer to.

* Monoma and Hachiman are two power copying [[TheChessmaster chessmasters]] that usually resort to underhanded and unheroic tactics to get ahead, but with a few key differences; aside from the logistical differences in their Quirk, they both feel like their power is lacking in some way and have to rely on their brains to get any use out of them, making them both WeakButSkilled. [[QuantityVsQuality But while Hachiman’s copy quirk effectively creates a weaker knock-off of the original, his quirk options and duration are virtually unlimited. Monoma on the other hand can wield his borrowed quirks in their original power, but as a consequence is far more limited in how many he can hold and for how long]]. Hachiman is a [[TheStoic stoic]] and DeadpanSnarker who's charismatic enough to give [[RousingSpeech rousing speeches]] when he needs to, was voted as the class representative by a large margin, and (unintentionally) became a source of inspiration for his classmates. Meanwhile, Monoma is a loud and obnoxious SmugSnake whose's "leadership" for his class is largely self-appointed and is TheFriendNobodyLikes. Monoma is the SitcomArchNemesis who thinks of Hachiman as a [[ItsPersonal rival that must be taken down a peg or three]]. At the same time, Hachiman sees him as [[NothingPersonal just another obstacle his way]].

* Kirishima is a loud LargeHam and BoisterousBruiser, contrasting with Hachiman’s more reserved personality. While Kirishima is rather BookDumb and opts for a BoringButPractical approach to his SuperToughness, Hachiman is WeakButSkilled, and has to rely on his brains and his AwesomeByAnalysis by necessity if he wants his DifficultButAwesome Quirk to do anything useful. While people like Orimoto believe Hachiman is going through a “high school reinvention” phase, Kirishima is doing just that by BecomingTheMask.

* Both Asui and Hikigaya are [[BrutalHonesty brutally honest]] doting older siblings who had only a single friend before U.A. They’re both also fairly attractive despite a noted unattractive feature (Tsuyu’s face can’t emote, while Hikigaya has "dead fish eyes"), and are both JackOfAllStats Heroes that lack raw power, who are most effective when working with others. However, Asui’s contributions as a teammate come from her possessing high mobility and strength from her Quirk combined with a high Cooperative nature that makes her an excellent support member. Hikigaya’s is due to the sheer versatility of his Quirk allowing him to take any role within a group, be it supporting, offensive, defensive, covering weaknesses, and/or enhancing strengths. Asui also possesses NervesOfSteel and is always calm no matter how dangerous the situation, while Hikigaya only appears calm, but is often secretly terrified and is simply good at acting under pressure.

* Todoroki and Hachiman get off to a bad start, mainly because of how similar they are. They’re both [[ByronicHero Byronic Heroes]] with poor social skills who are primarily motivated by [[ThePowerOfHate spite]]. However, Todoroki is even ''more'' socially awkward than Hachiman due to his upbringing. His Quirk is better than Hachiman’s in almost every way, and while Hachiman loves his father, Todoroki hates his.

* Mineta is a TinySchoolboy and a [[DirtyKid shameless pervert]] with an [[HeartIsAnAwesomePower underwhelming quirk]] who mainly wanted to be a hero for [[IJustWantToBeBadass fame and to get girlfriends]]. Hachiman is a tall ByronicHero with a weak quirk who has some moments of mild perversion due to being a [[HormoneAddledTeenager teenage boy]], but he’s nowhere near Mineta’s levels. They were both the lowest-scoring participants in the entrance exam, but since Hachiman did literally one point better, he got Mineta’s place. They also both possess unwavering determination in achieving their goals, with Mineta resolving to bite the bullet and join the General Studies course in the slim hope of getting a spot in the hero course, and Hachiman going above and beyond to [[spoiler:avenge his friend.]]

Even their fighting styles are similar, requiring precise movements and agility to work effectively, with Yui’s thread-springs giving her [[InASingleBound long jumps]], while Yukino’s background in Aikido gives her the training she needs to utilize her SuperStrength and enhanced speed.

* Bakugo and Yukino are [[BornWinner Born Winners]] with powerful combat-oriented Quirk, excellent natural and learned instincts, a talent for musical instruments (drums and guitars respectively), intelligence to spare, and deep down, they both have an InferioritySuperiorityComplex to certain degrees. However, Yukino always saw her Quirk are more of a curse because it made her dangerous to be around until she got it under control. Bakugo’s Quirk gave him nothing but praise and adulation his whole life, which just inflated his ego to mammoth proportions. Therefore, Yukino sees him as a brash thug, while Bakugo sees her as nothing but an [[AloofDarkHairedGirl ice queen]]. Even their [[FireIceDuo powers are mirror-opposites]], where Bakugo’s explosions create heat that can propel him through the air or blast opponents away, Yukino creates ice in the air around her by absorbing ambient heat and converting that into strength.

* Ashido is a congenial FunPersonified, while Yukino is a reserved AloofDarkHairedGirl. Their quirks are very different - liquid vs temperature - but their fighting styles are similar, emphasizing mobility; Ashido’s [[DanceBattler training in dance]] matched with Yukino’s Aikido. They also have IShallTauntYou tendencies, but Yukino’s is more dry-cutting remarks as opposed to Ashido’s zingers. Additionally, they both have budding crushes on boys in their class — Ashido has a crush on Kirishima, but CantSpitItOut, while Yukino is still sorting out her feelings regarding Hachiman, but his ability to continually [[UptightLovesWild subvert her expectations has caught her interest]].

* Toru is bubbly and an all-around [[TheCutie cutie]], while Yukino is more a TroubledButCute. Toru overcompensates for her permanent invisibility with her attention-grabbing personality, while Yukino’s Quirk and BrutalHonesty actively drove people away. Because Toru needs to be completely naked for her Quirk to be effective, she’s very vulnerable to drastic temperature changes. Yukino can stick her hand into liquid nitrogen and be no worse for wear but is constantly in danger of absorbing too much heat and raising her internal body temperature to dangerous levels. Even how their individual [[ShipTease Ship Tease]] with Hachiman is different — [[BelligerentSexualTension Yukino and Hachiman are combative and snarky]], [[BirdsOfAFeather which just shows how similar they are personality-wise]]. With Toru, it started when Hachiman recognized her strength, put faith in her skills, and solidified when he gave her IntimateHealing.

* Asui and Yukino are both attractive Heroines with enhanced strength and maneuverability and a propensity for BrutalHonesty. They both also come from a largely friendless background and wish to become Rescue-type Heroes. However, Asui’s lack of friends before U.A. was due to her focus on studying and responsibilities as the eldest sibling, and was still approached by one friend. Yukino is the youngest daughter who was completely ostracized because of her [[CursedWithAwesome unstable Quirk]], and never had anyone reach out to her. While Tsuyu’s Quirk [[WeakButSkilled lacks raw power]] it does allow for lateral maneuverability, and is perfect for being a Rescue Hero. Yukino’s Quirk allows her to be a heavy hitter, that can slide around horizontal surfaces, and can easily hurt people; making it detrimental for directly rescuing others. Asui also is extremely weak in cold and rapidly cooling temperatures, while Yukino empowers herself by sucking in heat to suddenly make her surroundings colder.

* Tokoyami and Yukino both have powers where their strength is affected by environmental conditions, and they feel their quirks are more a [[CursedWithAwesome curse that they must master]] due to being easy to hurt others if their powers go out of control. Both are talented guitarists and rather serious individuals. But while Yukino’s serious attitude manifests as BrutalHonesty and DeadpanSnarker tendencies, Tokoyami is a ColdHam, whose overly dramatic statements [[TheComicallySerious are hard to take seriously.]] Yukino is also [[BookSmart one of the top of the class in academics,]] while Tokoyami is [[BookDumb subpar at best.]]

* Orimoto and Yukino are both dedicated heroes, but the latter is a BrokenAce, while the former is more of a ClassPrincess. Orimoto was very popular in her old school and widely liked, while Yukino was an outcast. They also greatly differ in how they treat Hachiman; with Orimoto being such a positive person, she doesn’t realize how deeply she hurt him and thinks nothing has changed between them, while Yukino slowly begins to see him as an equal.

* Sagami was born with a powerful [[PlayingWithFire fire-based quirk]] that made everyone believe she was a natural fit to be a pro-hero, Yukino’s unstable [[AnIcePerson ice-based quirk]] insulated her from praise. Sagami was so sure of her own success that she miserably failed to get into the hero course and was shunted into General Studies, while Yukino passed easily. Yukino greatly values the friendships she’s made while in U.A. (especially Yui’s), with them being the first genuine companionships she’s ever made. Meanwhile, Sagami was a total AlphaBitch who never lacked for hangers-on and was very belittling to Yui.

But while Kirishima is a LargeHam who tries to make up for a lack of confidence in himself, Hayama is more soft-spoken and hides a cynical side to not hurt his relationships and status. Their powers and styles also are opposite as Kirishima’s power is purely defensive and doesn’t give him any greater mobility, making him act like an immovable wall, Hayama’s power toughens his body while he’s flying and thus necessitates him to be in constant motion.

* Hayama and Shinso are opposites in almost every way. Where Hayama is good-looking, popular, nice, athletic, and possesses a naturally heroic Quirk; Shinso is thuggish looking, was ostracized growing up, is cynical and a bit of a jerk, and is perceived as having a Quirk that is naturally villainous. Shinso is also a Gen Ed student who is driven to become a Hero, while Hayama got into the Hero course only because of others’ expectations.

* To Midoriya. While Hayama is a confident, good-looking, charismatic, BigManOnCampus, and born with a very [[FlyingBrick heroic Quirk]], he doesn't actually have interest in a heroic career and was peer-pressured into it, and is something of a BitchInSheepsClothing due to his bad case of BystanderSyndrome in his past. Midoriya is an awkward, funny-looking, and painfully shy Quirkless boy who nonetheless is ''obsessed'' with heroes and dreams of being the next [[ToBeAMaster Number 1 Pro-Hero in the world]], and has [[TheCape the self-sacrificing nature and determination to do it]]. They also contrast in their feelings toward Hachiman; they both feel a bit [[OvershadowedByAwesome overshadowed]] by him, but Midoriya's experience with Bakugo makes him a little more resigned to it, and while he admires Hachiman for his better qualities, Midoriya continues to push forward with his ambitions and achieve things on his own merits. Hiratsuka had an older brother who faced Heteromorph bigotry, and pursued a career in pro-heroism which ultimately cost him his life; very worryingly similar to the relationship Komachi has now with her older brother, who endured bullying due to his weak Quirk, and is constantly having brushes with death. While Cyberpunch represents a possible future for Hachiman, she’s a less optimistic but equally possible future for Komachi.

* Contrasts heavily with All Might. While All Might is the BigGood, TheIdealist, and [[TheParagon Symbol of Peace]] whose Heroism is born out of a genuine desire to help people, Haruno is a [[TheCynic cynical]] NominalHero who’s more in the Hero Industry for her own desires and doesn’t believe true altruistic people even exist. Both have strained relationships with younger family members they try to guide, but while Haruno views Yukino’s hostility with amusement, and tries to instruct her on the shady business side of the Hero Industry; Endeavor is practically oblivious to the reasons behind Shoto’s rebellious attitude, and focuses only on Quirk development.

Yukino is a young girl from an affluent family that is full of strife and resentment, while Midoriya is from a working-class family with a workaholic father and a stay-at-home mother, but it's very that they love each other. Yukino's Quirk creates an aura of kinetic energy she absorbs from the surrounding heat, which she uses to augment her strength and speed, but it causes her core body temperature to rise rapidly as the air in her immediate vicinity drops to freezing cold--making her power a danger to herself and others. Midoriya's Quirk also places a cost on his body which necessitates him relying on hit-and-run attacks and short bursts of power, and he still doesn't know the full extent of it yet. They both experienced osterization because of the nature of their Quirks--Yukino's being unstable, while Midoriya was Quirkless--which shaped their worldviews. Surprisingly, they both share in being TheIdealist--Yukino does believe in the ideals of heroism and helping those in need with no thought of reward, just like Midoriya. However, Midoriya aims to be the next [[TheCape Symbol of Peace]] that saves everyone with a brave smile, while Yukino has a low opinion of [[CelebritySuperhero celebrity superheroes]], feeling it's not as important as saving lives.

* Yui and Midoriya both have qualities that make ideal pro-heroes in the making, posessing impressive Quirks, [[ChronicHeroSyndrome a desire to help others]] [[TheCape with a brave smile]], but are held back by their deeper insecurities; Midoriya, due to his years of being Quirkless, has a serious case of imposter syndrome and is constanlty doubting himself (and it's only gotten worse now that he feels he hasn't truly accomplished anything on his own merits), while Yui's depression and low self-esteem makes her feel unfit to be the hero she wants to be. Finally, they both wish to emulate a person they look up to (All Might and Hachiman, repsectively), they are mainly motivated by sublty different aspects of heroism--Midoriya is motivated by [[ForGreatJustice Justice]], while Yui is motivated by [[ForHappiness Happiness]].

* To Komachi. Hiratsuka had an older who pursued a career in pro-heroism which ultimately cost him his life, very worryingly similar to the relationship Komachi has now with her older brother, who is constantly having brushes with death. While Cyberpunch represents a possible future for Hachiman, she’s a less optimistic but equally possible future for Komachi.
