* AffablyEvil: Mr. Blue in the original. Although he never smiles, he is unfailingly polite to the hostages, rebukes Mr. Grey for using excessive force, is angered when Mr. Brown is wounded [[spoiler: and subsequently killed]], makes sure that [[spoiler: Mr. Green gets away]] and but doesn't even get angry when Garber corners him. He only kills two people, one of them a colossal Jerkass and the other because he had made a threat to do so unless his conditions were met, and they were not met, so he had to carry it out.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: Mr. Gray - one of the hijackers - was fired from the Mafia for being too violent. The novel explains that Mr. Gray's taste for violence got in the way of running protection rackets effectively; the victims felt no obligation to cooperate since he tended to beat them whether they paid the protection money or not.
