* ChristmasElves

to:

* ChristmasElvesChristmasElves: The trilogy features child-like elves who are ReallySevenHundredYearsOld. (Bernard, Santa's second-in-command, is noticeably taller and played by a teenager.) After meeting them in his "[[OrWasItADream dream]]," Scott objects to the more "dwarf-like" interpretation of Christmas elves that his advertising company was going to use in a commercial.

* IWantYouToMeetAnOldFriendOfMine: In the first movie, the trucker that sees Scott and Charlie on the sleigh is played by Jimmy Labriola, who had a recurring role as Benny on ''Series/HomeImprovement''.

* MissingTrailerScene: The trailer for the first movie had Scott fooling around with a doll and chatting with some guy in front of a children's play area.

YesVirginia: The original film has elements of this. Scott Calvin pretends to believe in Santa for Charlie's sake, but once Santa actually shows up, he desperately tries to find a more plausible explanation for what's going on, breaking the ruse. Later, Charlie's mother and step-father get to discover for themselves that Santa is real.
* YouKillItYouBoughtItYouKillItYouBoughtIt: When the current Santa becomes unable to fulfill their duties "by accident or design", the first person to put on the suit afterward becomes the new Santa. Over the course of the trilogy, this happens twice, both times when someone (Scott or Jack Frost) startles the current Santa, causing him to fall off a roof to his death.
