* LamarckWasRight:
** The film ends with [[spoiler:Mark and Anna getting married and having a son who inherits his father's ability to lie.]]
** The cut opening scene would have explained that humanity's ability to lie was inherited from a caveman that was driven from his cave by a beast but falsely gloated to his tribe that he had bravely defeated the creature, resulting in him becoming so popular with the ladies that he becomes our species' common ancestor. The film's universe diverges because the caveman told his tribe the truth, resulting in him getting declared a loser, driven out and never reproducing.

Misplaced, moving to the correct tab

* ValuesDissonance: Mark lies to a random woman on the street to get her to have sex with him, knowing she'll believe anything he says. In the aughts this came off as a bawdy one scene joke, but comes off as more sinister now that we know more about rape by deception.
