A gang of teenage boys ditch school one day to watch a porn movie, only for the movie of choice to contain a detail so explosive it results in a broken TV and one of the boys searching for his mother in a murderous rage.

Jyothi and her son Rasukutty await her long-lost husband, only for said "husband" to turn out to be a trans woman named Shilpa.

Vaembu, a woman unsatisfied with her arranged marriage, impulsively cheats on her husband with her college boyfriend, only for said boyfriend to [[OutWithABang pass away during the act]].

Welcome to ''Super Deluxe'', the second film by Thiagarajan Kumararaja. Released in 2019, it follows his debut ''Aaranya Kaandam'' and has an ensemble cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha, Fahadh Faasil, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin and Gayathrie, among many, many others.

** The TV is broken by one of the boys, angry at seeing his mother as a porn actress. Instead of fessing up, they try to replace the TV before the adult comes home in the evening to find a broken TV. To get the money, they end up approaching a local gangster for any jobs they might do. Before they know it, they are asked to kill a man by poisoning his drink. It backfires.

* CrisisOfFaith: Arputham is suffering from one at the start of the film. [[spoiler:We later find out why: he ran into Shilpa while she was terrified at having lost Rasukutty and she told him that she had tried to kill herself in the tsunami, but survived because she held on to a rock ("just a rock, Father"). Arputham, whose conversion to Christianity was motivated by the fact that he survived the same tsunami due to having held onto a statue of Jesus, was left to struggle with the fact that his survival may not have been divinely ordained after all.]]

* IWasYoungAndNeededTheMoney: [[spoiler:Zigzagged, in that the typical shame associated with the phrase is absent. In the end, when Leela and Soori talk about the porn film she was in, she says she did it in hopes of becoming an actor, and denies Soori's theory of her having been conned into it, saying "I knew what I was doing".]]

* StupidCrooks: To earn money to buy a TV, Gaaji, Vasanth and Thuyavan accept a job from a local gangster to poison a specific victim (or so they think). After poisoning his tea, they get the sudden idea that if they save the victim instead of killing him, then the grateful victim would give them more money than what the gangster was paying them to kill him. Unfortunately for them, the "victim" turns out to be the gangster's henchman who was specifically evaluating whether the trio could be relied upon, and they all get a beating from the gangster.

''Super Deluxe'' is a 2019 Tamil film from India. It was the second film directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja. There are four connected stories about an unhappy wife who has an implusive fling with an ex-beau, a transgender woman trying to bond with the wife and kid she had before she transitioned physically, an actress and a religious preacher trying to save their son in very different ways, and five boys who just wanted to watch a porn movie.

* TransTribulations: Played very straight [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHmruGc2-os]]. Practically everyone whom Shilpa runs into turns out to be a transphobe: the constable who thinks she is a kidnapper, the subinspector Berlin who forces oral sex from her, the people at the school who refers to her as "it", the kids at the school who taunt her with transphobic slurs, the school principal who is embarrassed by her very presence. Even the old woman who sympathizes with her plight only makes excuses for reality being different from Shilpa's expectations without offering her any encouragement. The only people who accept Shilpa are her son and wife.

* DeathBySex: Vaembu's boyfriend, right at the start. [[spoiler:Also Berlin, right at the end, after having forced Shilpa into fellatio and while approaching Vaembu to rape her.]] Mugil even lampshades it at the end:
--> A man had sex with you this morning, and he died. [[spoiler: Another merely thought of having sex with you, and he died too.]] I wouldn't touch you with a ten-foot pole in a million years.
