* IdenticalGrandson: Bruce Ramsey portrays three members of the Merchant family across 400 years (Phillip L'Merchant in 18th century France, John Merchant in 20th century France, and Paul Merchant in 22nd century space).

To say that this film suffered from ExecutiveMeddling would be an understatement. Several characters and plot points were left on the cutting room floor, and the movie was shoved into theaters. Barker cut ties with the film franchise afterwards.

Fourth film in the ''Franchise/{{Hellraiser}}'' franchise, the last one released theatrically, and final one to have any involvement from creator Creator/CliveBarker until the 2022 reboot.

* LightEmUp: [[spoiler: The Elysium Configuration, the entire space station and its satellites, focuses the light of the sun into an intricate pattern that consumes even Pinhead]]!

* TwistEnding: The space station is [[spoiler: the perfected "anti-Lament Configuration" that previous Merchants couldn't get quite right.]]

* WorthyOpponent: At the end Pinhead notes he relished his centuries-long fight with the Merchant family and wished it could continue.

* SameLanguageDub: Valentina Vargas was re-dubbed with an American accent as part of Joe Chappelle's retool.

* EverythingSoundsSexierInFrench: Angelique originally had a french accent. It [[ExecutiveMeddling was cut]].

It's the year 2127, and on the mysterious space station Minos, a man named Paul Merchant has a robot fiddling with a very familiar-looking box. As the robot solves the cursed puzzle (and subsequently gets blown to smithereens), a group of guards storm into Merchant's station, placing him under arrest.

* EverythingsBetterWithPrincesses: Angelique is the princess of HELL. [[spoiler:After she fails to corrupt the modern descendant of Lemarchand, Pinhead takes her to Hell with him and remakes her in his image. The next time we see her, she's just another Cenobite in his retinue.]]

* AlanSmithee: Unsurprisingly, the ExecutiveMeddling cheesed off director Keven Yagher. Hence Alan Smithee being the credited director.

* AndIntroducing: Bloodline features the first acting credit for ''Series/ParksAndRecreation'' and ''Series/PartyDown'' star Adam Scott.

* FinalGirl: There are a couple, given the different time periods this films covers:
** Merchant's wife, Bobbi.

* MirrorMonster: Angelique kills [[spoiler:one of the future soldiers]] by appearing in a mirror in her human form as a woman pleading for help before dragging him in and decapitating him.
