* Comment: "Alan ends up on The Grid" is a very common FandomSpecificPlot, and this is one that fits very well with established canon. Alan is portrayed as his LawfulGood, strategy-minded best, and everyone else is very morally gray - even the Isos. It also handles Flynn's combination of good intentions and talent for ''epic'' fuck-ups with just the right balance of wanting to be sympathetic and wanting to punch his lights out. There's also elements of DeconstructionFic at play, as it plays with other {{FandomSpecificPlot}}s like "why didn't Flynn tell anyone," Yori's SequelNonEntity status, and the relatively common Tron/Flynn 'ship. And the way Alan solves the whole mess is an amazing SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome.

* Comments: I hesitate to put this under "shipping," aside from this containing some twisted elements of FoeYay, but Users, it drips with the stuff. Clu is an inventive bastard. He'd know that he wouldn't be able to break Tron using ''pain,'' which means "pleasure" is much more efficient tool.

* Comment: It's not uncommon to find a ShoutOut or two to ''[[VideoGame/TronTwoPointOh Tron 2.0]]'' in Legacy fanfic, but extremely rare to go for a full-blown PatchworkFic. It disregards both game and Legacy canons to TakeAThirdOption and create a compelling AlternateContinuity that will integrate the characters from both, including Ma3a as "progenitor" of the Isos, the protagonists as estranged HeterosexualLifePartners, Mercury as a fighter against Clu's regime, etc.

It unravels events from the coup to the end of Legacy, casting her as a member of the [[LaResistance Resistance]], through capture, conscription, and the eventual freedom she and Tron win for themselves. And it handles "Rinzler" marvelously.
