* ''Synopsis'': The six ''Star Wars'' films are a semi-improvised TV show in which the Jedi all play themselves to keep up popular support. And outside the shooting of the films themselves, there's a whole other story going on involving the labyrinthine relationships between the characters and a whole lot of romance (I'm not putting it in the shipping section because there's a lot more to the story than that and most of the romances involve [=OCs=]).
* ''Comments'': God, how to describe this one? That synopsis doesn't nearly do it justice. It isn't the broad parody you might expect from the setup, though a lot of it is certainly extremely funny. Rather, it's more of an AU story which treats the ''Star Wars'' universe itself seriously while giving sometimes silly and sometimes quite moving reasons for the films' more...eccentric elements. The changes in tone can even be a bit jarring at times, possibly due to the author's bipolar disorder. Unfortunately, she permanently retired from fanfic writing in 2007, leaving this a DeadFic, but she put up a thorough synopsis of the rest of the story that she had planned.

She makes a spur-of-the-moment decision to defect... and that's only the beginning.
* ''Comments'': Written up from the author's StarWars roleplaying campaign, and ''really, really good''. This is as good as or better than some of the official stuff, IMO. The characters are interesting and well-defined. I only wish there was more of it.

This backfires catastrophically on one front and succeeds on the other. It's quite true to AaronAllston's [[XWingSeries style and characterization]] of these two pilots. And it features one of my favorite {{SpoofAesop}}s of all time, and this exchange.

But while this does have a hint of a trope which I despise - that her adoptive father isn't her "real" father, that she's not really Leia ''Organa'' - it does have some good reasoning, and I like the sad, contemplative tone. * All of Estora's Star Wars fanfiction is fantastic. If she writes something, it needs to be listed here the second she posts it. No shit. I seriously cannot recommend this author enough; I promise you, if you read her stories you will fall in love with them. Estora somehow manages to effortlessly weave together humour, angst, action, style, and emotion to create one hell of an experience for the reader. Below are her two main stories; she currently has two drabble collections, a one-shot, and another far less serious story, all of which are worthy checking out.

* ''Comments'': Yes, that means it starts off as Het and moves to Slash, but note that it's a WIP, currently twenty-three chapters and over 100 000 words, and nothing slashy has happened yet except a bit of unconscious flirting. Estora takes her time to develop the characters, keeping them amazingly consistent with their film portrayals, and effortlessly blends angst and humour while exploring the depth and glory of the human heart. This fic is seriously an epic, and definitely worth checking out. It's a slash story for people who don't like slash, that's how good it is.

The only character who is written from first person POV, Estora's Padme is engaging and a joy to read and has definitely made up this troper's disappointment with her at the end of Episode III. Padme, next to Mace Windu, also easily has the best lines in the story, including the following passage (which happens before any slash is touched upon) which this troper personally believes is ''the'' [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome CMoA]] AND the [[CrowningMomentOfFunny CMoF]]:
--> I do not consider myself a spiteful person, but sometimes certain circumstances call for it. Anakin Skywalker is many things, but a considerate lover he is not, which is why I now watch with wholly inappropriate satisfaction as his Jedi robes fly out of the window and fall to certain destruction on the ground level of Coruscant, mostly likely never to be seen again. It is also why I contact Master Mace Windu to come and please retrieve this naked sleeping Padawan who is sprawled across my bed. No, I have absolutely no idea what he is doing here, Master Windu. Why, no, Master Windu, I did not just have unsatisfactory sex with the Chosen One leading to me tossing his clothes out the window because I'm annoyed he didn't make me climax, although that was an oddly specific question. Oh, you followed him here. In that case, I don't believe that was entirely appropriate of you, Master Windu, but you're welcome to come in now. Yes, HE'S finished. Would you like something to drink?
