** Comartemis: Far too often I see fanfics that turn Luna's [[CloudCuckooLander unique personality]] into a [[ObfuscatingStupidity mask]] covering a much more normal (read: ''[[PossessionSue boring]]'') character underneath. This fic, thankfully, is not one of those. Luna is more in-character here than I've ever seen her in any other fanfic; she's wonderfully nutty and totally bonkers, but she's also a person with weaknesses and insecurities, not just a [[CrazyAwesome strange girl]] who happens to be a lot of fun to read. Luna fans everywhere owe it to themselves to read this fic.

* Fourthed with a ridiculous amount of enthusiasm by Dorondes. This goes beyond pure gold -- It's pure platinum. Not only is this the best characterization of Minerva I have ever read, this laugh-every-0.5-seconds threeshot includes a brilliant cameo from everyone's favorite earringed Auror, along with one of the very few Snapes that's neither romanticized or demonized I have ever read -- he can stand to drink black coffee before breakfast. Freak.
** Fifthed by LuckyFlanker13--Biscuit truly made a classic of HP fanfiction here. Dear lord, Biscuit really did [=McGonagall=]'s personality justice here. I only wish there were stories about [=McGonagall=]'s younger days, if only to live up to the masterpiece that Biscuit threw together here.

* Synopsis: Ten years after the defeat of Voldemort, Lee Jordan asks what life was like during the Death-Eaters' reign for the Muggleborn son of a prominent Tory family, and what he learned as a member of the commission which investigated how they came to power.
* Comments: Featuring Lee Jordan as the interviewer and Justin Finch-Fletchley as the [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin interviewee]]. A very interesting fic that ranges from humorous to sad and serious. Mainly it's Jordan talking with Finch-Fletchley about his time during the Second Wizarding War working with the Muggle Government and explores the several concepts such as why the Unplotable spell won't do wizards so much good, muggleborn politics, and other things I didn't even think about until I read this fic. Not slash, but there is a passing mention of Justin being gay.

* Synopsis: What the professor of Hogwarts think about Harry, Ron and Hermione's adventures at school.
* Comments: One of the funniest Harry Potter fics I've ever read, this insight into the minds of the Hogwart professors really brings them alive.

* Synopsis: Everyone's heard of Dedalus Diggle's display of shooting stars in Kent. What most people don't know is why he did it.
* Comments: A very short oneshot that still somehow manages to provide depth to an otherwise irrelevant and passing act.

* "Boys will be boys. Slytherins will be Slytherins. Combine the two and there will be trouble. On the pitch. In the dorm. On the bed. In everyday life. You were warned. Now, act accordingly." Astoria imparts some timeless wisdom.
* Comments: Follows Astoria's third to fifth year, aka Books 5-7, subtly moving from [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments fluff]] to [[DarkerAndEdgier all darkness]] of war at Hogwarts]]. Easily the most realistic depiction of Astoria Greengrass on the site, alongside an equally endearing spin on our favorite Slytherins (and less favorite) as {{Anti Hero}}es working to come out as undamaged as possible. May slightly confuse AlternateCharacterInterpretation with DracoInLeatherPants, though ValuesDissonance easily applies.

* Synopsis: Peter Pettigrew is a traitor. He betrayed everything he loved. Why? It was a question of strength. Peter wasn't strong enough.
* Comments: A pretty chilling account of how everything may not be as it seems with Peter Pettigrew and his betrayal. Some scenes read uncomfortably like rape.

* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: She is a romantic at heart, she thinks. If she could only believe in romance. The slow damnation of Merope Gaunt.
* Comments: It's beautiful writing -- disturbing, but nonetheless beautiful. An account of Merope Gaunt's life. It's rated M, and there is incest and femmeslash, but it's not really graphic. More than anything, I'd say it was heartbreaking.

* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: Regret is just a word. You are just a person. And the clock keeps ticking but it's digital. Set after the war.
* Comments: A great different perspective on Pansy Parkinson's "betrayal" in Deathly Hallows.

* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: Seven years; seven times Severus Snape refused to show weakness. He never did learn.
* Comments: Gen fic, focusing mostly on the adult characters. I'm not a huge Snape fan- that is to say, I was ''not'' a huge Snape fan. This fic just seems to get at his character in a way that makes me empathise with him, and ''respect'' him a whole lot more. The beginning of the turnaround in my attitude towards his character.

* Status: Complete
* Synopsis: The story of "Harry Potter and the HBP", but told from the 3rd person POV of Ginny Weasley. Strictly in-canon. Suitable for anyone whom the "Harry Potter" novels themselves would be suitable for.
* Comments: A very interesting and insightful look at Ginny's point of view during HBP, and pretty much ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin -- [=RRFang=] does a fantastic job of sticking to canon. Everyone is in character, and it puts in some ingenious (and at times hilarious) explanations for some events involving Ginny in the book. Starts at the end of Order of the Phoenix, also skips into parts of The Deathly Hallows [[spoiler:including the Nineteen Years Later epilogue]]. Also crosses over into the Harry Potter Shipping section of FanficRecs, considering that it DOES revolve around Ginny and Harry.

* Comments: It's a rather short but very vivid piece about Tom's horror after realising that he's been raped by Merope. It does an extremely good job in portraying the disjointed and chaotic mind state of Tom Riddle.

It also has some rather interesting writing choices that one wouldn't expect, like Crouch Sr.'s wife being friends with Rita Skeeter, Skeeter having a short-lived relationship with Lockhart, and what was going through Crouch Sr.'s head upon finding out that his son had become involved with the Death Eaters he prosecuted. It is one of those pure gems in the ridiculous horde that the Harry Potter fandom's come to be, with actually accurate portrayals of characters, to sides of people that only the Professors see. Minerva's interaction and relationships with everyone are incredibly well-written and makes perfect sense, and you ''will'', at the end of this fic, have newly-found respect for the amazing Minerva [=McGonagall=]. The whole plot is horrible in that good way, looking into the insight of a pedophile who somehow stumbled across all of this by pure chance and trying to make sense of everything. With Ginny already suffering from the effects of what happened in the Chamber of Secrets, the entire experience makes her go catatonic. Even though she survives and [[spoiler: finds some of the bodies of his other victims]] it is definitely suspenseful. Do not read this late at night.
