* VitriolicBestBuds: Cross and Soundbite. While not as bad as Zoro and Sanji, they're both snarky, and Soundbite's pranking tendencies often get on the human's nerves, as do Cross's insults. Point of reference for how much they really care: Cross was ready to tear Miss All Sunday apart when she stole him (who, as a point of reference, is not only a future crewmate but also a powerful assassin), and Soundbite's concern for Cross when he fell ill was as clear as day.

* DeathGlare:
** Cross gives one to Luffy shortly after joining his crew, before issuing a very cold speech threatening to maim him if he steals his meat. To everyone's awe, it works.
** Remembering his vow when he came to Little Garden, Cross gives one to Sanji when he objects to Cross stopping him from attacking a T-Rex for their hunting contest. He then turns his gaze on said T-Rex…who begins sweating.

With a face that is, quote, 'serious as a nuclear winter,' Sanji calmly demand that Cross tell him everything he knows about one person that he mentioned in his sleep… Princess Shirahoshi.

* EpicFail: While stalling Wapol, Cross attempts to kick him away in the garbage-can like form he takes midway through his Slim-Up Wapol technique. It might have worked if Cross was a standard human in the world of One Piece, but as it is, it only results in a lot of pain in his foot.

** And the whiplash continues as Cross lists three reasons that Sanji cannot be her knight in shining armor: he remains in love mode as Cross says that she's 20,000 feet below the surface; he instantly changes to burning fury when Cross says that a villainous stalker is after her, forcing her to stay in solitary confinement; and he instantly changes to hit the DespairEventHorizon when Cross informs her that Shirahoshi is no older than 15.
