* ShoutOut: Probably unintentional, but the names Dalamar and Ariakas [[DragonLance sure do sound familiar...]]

''My Inner Life'' is a Zelda fanfic written at some point between the late 90s and early 2000s, it has gone down in history as one of the most memorable stories of its type ever written. It all started when a starry-eyed fangirl known as Jen began to have lucid dreams about Link and believed they were a real second life she lived, writing them down to share them with the world.

* CharacterShilling: To absurd level with Jenna. Everyone who meets her immediatly loves her, with the King considering her as a second daughter despite doing ''nothing''.

* EightDeadlyWords: The entire premise of the story hinges on the idea that the audience is just as fascinated by Jenna's self-indulgent wish fulfillment fantasies about fashion, sex, houses, and other mundane claptrap as she is.
** Weirdly enough, the author seems to take this attitude towards all the characters who are not Link or Jenna. At one point, an entire epic assassination plot to kill the king during the war which Link single-handedly foiled and won a medal for is completely brushed over with only a few sentences so Jenna can quickly get back to concentrating on herself and how the war effects her life (which amounts to little more than sitting around her house and moping about Link not being home).

** Pretty much every single bit of information that was conveyed in a footnote could have easily been woven into the main narration (the whole point of a footnote being to relay important information to the reader that would otherwise be unnatural or difficult to explain in the narration), but that would mean that Jenna would have to spend time talking about something other than her clothes or grotesque sex life.
