* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Shirou's extreme tendency for this heavily disturbs the pro heroes, and they're keeping a close eye on him until they can break him of it. it should be noted that his desire to be a hero is admired, but it's his lack of self-worth, called severe altruism here, that has everyone worried. Even Archer calls him out on it, saying that he's in a society where heroes are so prevalent that there are actually schools for it so why should Shirou think that everything depends solely on him?

Sure enough, when they face each other in a training exercise, Momo tries to keep him at bay with a machine gun (with rubber bullets) and flashbang grenades, but he easily parries them and gets into melee range. She then makes a taser and a spear, but he effortlessly dodges or parries her with a wooden sword while lecturing her on the flaws in her technique before knocking her out.

'''Unmarked spoilers for the ''Unlimited Blade Works'' route of ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'' below'''

!!Tropes:
* AscendedExtra: Yu "Mount Lady" Takeyama is given a much bigger role here, taking on the role of Shirou's guardian and adoptive mother, a role she takes to [[HiddenDepths surprisingly well]].
* BilingualBonus: Archer's cafe is called Cafe d'Acier, French for Cafe of Steel.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Shirou's extreme tendency for this heavily disturbs the pro heroes, and they're keeping a close eye on him until they can break him of it.
* CultureClash: A mild form of this occurs when Shirou first arrives in the MHA world, where his methods -- which are comparatively soft by Nasuverse standards -- are seen as extreme and borderline villainous.
* CynicalMentor: Archer reluctantly assumes this role in his interactions with Shirou.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Played with. Shirou is still used to the comparatively extreme measures necessary to deal with threats in the Nasuverse, so while he's soft by his old world's standards, he's decidedly ''not'' by his new one's.
* HeroesGoneFishing: Having already come to an understanding with Shirou and with nothing better to do, Archer opens a rather popular cafe.
* HiddenDepths: Yu Takeyama is given a much expanded role, where she is shown to be surprisingly responsible underneath her vain, attention-seeking persona. She initially adopts Shirou to keep him out of a juvenile correction center, but quickly grows to care for him as if he was her own.
* KnightTemplar: Due where the two settings fall on the SlidingScaleOfIdealismVsCynicism, Shirou's methods of dealing with threats, while necessary in the Nasuverse, put him as this in the eyes of the pro heroes.
* LazyAlias: Archer goes by the name Farran in this new world. It was the first name he could come up with on the spot.
* SecretChaser: Yu is very intent on learning Shirou's past and helping him through the issues that have made him so suicidally self-sacrificing. At the same time though, she wants to respect his boundaries and tries not to force the issue.
* SlidingScaleOfIdealismVsCynicism: There's some initial friction after Shirou first arrives due to him still employing the methods he needed to use for the heavily cynical Nasuverse in the much more idealistic world of MHA.
* SupremeChef: Shirou is this as per canon, much to Yu's delight. Archer is also shown to have retained his skills, opening up a rapidly successful cafe.
* ThereAreNoTherapists: Subverted. While the idea of forcing Shirou to go to therapy is considered, ultimately it is decided that he's too far gone for that to be of any help.
