You don’t seem to give a damn about anyone else’s feelings! And don’t you ''dare'' turn this on me! An innocent girl whose only crime is playing a film role gets you ''snarling'', and someone who got conned nearly gets ''mauled'' by you! ** FreeRangeChildren is also deconstructed: just because Chloe runs off on her own ''doesn't'' mean she can handle Pokémon on her own, and since she runs off without catching anybody's attention, she's totally messed up when she's found.

So, when he gives her a Trainer starter kit and convinces her to go catch a Pokémon, Chloe blindly trusts him... while either unaware or ignorant about the fact she doesn't have a Pokémon or other way to defend herself. As such, the Spearow incident happens, and when Chloe tries to call Specter for help, he fails to show up.[[note]]This is later explained as not because he left her high and dry, but because he can only appear through reflective surfaces, the closest being a river, and he was unable to reach her in time.[[/note]]

** After constantly [[TheScapegoat blaming Ash]] for [[OvershadowedByAwesome overshadowing their children]], claiming that he ''forced'' their kids to pursue other paths in life, the adults of Pallet Town get a much needed wake-up call, learning that their ringleader Carl had been [[NeverMyFault blaming Ash for his own]] [[AbusiveParents failures as a parent]]. Their children were fully content with what they'd chosen for themselves, and there was absolutely ''no reason'' for them to seek {{Revenge}} on Ash... much less go along with a scheme that would have put innocent children at risk of ''being killed in a forest fire''. What's more, their kids [[InternalReveal learn what they did]] and that their parents ''never actually'' supported their dreams, creating a lot of rifts in a lot of families. All because the adults were pettily jealous of Ash's successes.
** London bitterly notes that the White Gestalt's quest against the Apex was this. From what we know, it wasn't pretty, it had to be ''[[LaserGuidedAmnesia erased]]'' [[LaserGuidedAmnesia from memory]], and by the time it sinks in, the statues made in honor of them will be pulled down.

** Chloe seeing Yamper hurt has her briefly see Atticus, just like how Tulip looked in horror at Atticus being shot by the Conductor.
** Chloe notes that she had to stop a fight against Satou and Zack the last time she was in the Malasada shop.
** Team Rocket makes a few references to the events of ''Recap/PokemonS1E36TheBridgeBikeGang'', with James even lampshading how rarely they get to reference that episode.
** When talking to the Fujihachi adults, Amelia brings up the two instances of the Train picking up people from the inside: Grace when the police officer and her parents were in another room, and Ryan and Min-Gi on a subway.
** Yeardley is reading the book of flowers Chloe gave him at the hospital.
** Yuna was referenced in Knight of the Orange Lily, who helped Lampetia to take care of Specter in the Living Lightning Car.
** When Lexi folds some pages into moths, the text depict that it's all about Chloe's trip through the Cyan Desert Car.
** Chloe states that she's seen Lana as one of the "Alolan Idols".

* DeconstructionFic:

** Apart from the inherent danger of starting a fire in a forest nearby sleeping campers, Annie and Carl's attempted frame-up is pathetically mismanaged to the point of comedy.

* DoubleStandard:
** A minor, but notable one. When Tomie suggests Goh to try have fun on the Train, Amelia, who's concerned for his worsening mental state, scoffs at the idea, when ''Chloe'' not only got to have some fun, but it was beneficial to help her get her number down.
** During their argument, Lexi states that Goh's pain is nowhere near the same level as Chloe, believing she was the one more hurt between the two of them. Lexi, you do realize you're talking to a guy who got sent to a suicide ward, right?
** Paul London doesn't have any qualms on the Apex being dragged to the Hazbin Car because of their crimes...but London, didn't you also murder people with your own bare hands back in your world?

*** When Raboot asks how Warbler has so much sagely advice, she flusters a little by stating she got it from listening to too many sad songs, trying to dodge the question.
*** Warbler has an intense dislike of Lexi. [[spoiler:Of course she does, as Lexi ''really'' hates Grace for what she did to him years ago.]]
*** Warbler mentioning how ten-year-olds mess up and how she knew about the rabbit and his "boy friend" in which Goh recalls the graffiti even though it was before her time. Warbler wouldn't know...her past self ''Grace'' would.
* ForWantOfANail:
** Had Sobble not followed Goh back to the malasada shop, [[spoiler:Ogami would've been able to kill him right there and then.]]
** In the second half of the Return to Corginia chapter, Chloe takes a walk around the campsite to calm her nerves. Had she not done so, no one would've noticed the fire in the forest and it could've culminated with the deaths of a dozen children.
** In the Deep Jungle Car, Hazel ponders what her life would have been if Grace and Simon never entered it.
** Had Kurune or Ikuo paid more attention to their son or went to parent teacher conferences or the school ''contacted them'', they would've known about Goh's depression and get him into some therapy. Moreover, if either of them just told Goh that they were financially secure this entire time or didn't work so hard for "the future", they could've been able to be a family and give Goh the social skills that could've prevented Chloe from going on the train.
** Trip points that out that if Hazel wasn't initially seen as a human, Grace would've killed her.
** Shirley being taken by the train meant she survived her canonical death and got a happy ending with Lelouch as a result. She also never had to deal with Mao.
** Grace's parents blamed themselves that if they just ''let'' Grace take her punishment instead of berating the mall cop, or at least even showed her some love and concern like a ''good'' parent did, she wouldn't have vanished.
** As noted below in TakeThat, Leo Akaba was taken by the Train and later killed by Ogami ''before'' he went to Academia, completely derailing the plot of his home series.

** Chloe tries to reassure Goh's parents that he'll be fine under the care of the Red Lotus Quarto. Of course, she fails to realize they're more concerned about the fact he got Trainnapped in the first place, to the point Kurune has to tell the Cerises to leave so they can rest.
** Rotomdex starts gushing over how Chloe is an internet sensation which is not helping since it reminds Chloe about how her brother caused a lot of damage that ruined her reputation.
* {{Irony}}:
** Despite Parker being the one with psychic powers, Chloe repeatedly anticipates what sort of arguments he's going to make in his

** Akemi muses that for a girl who was once bullied at school and picked on for being weird and different, after her return Chloe became the gossip amongst former students of Vermillion International School with people wondering what she did to get blue hair and a pipe.
** Dahlia, the smug liar who makes everyone fall for her looks, is the one who is terrified when "Maya" has a pistol pointed at her, which Jane reveals was never loaded.
** Chloe can't help but note that she's going to the Alola region, the same region where Ash is the champion and what started her trip onto the Train in the first place.
** Tokio finds it amusing that for all of Gladion noting how knight quests are horrible, his house is essentially a castle.

* PoorCommunicationKills:
** In the immediate aftermath, Ikuo demands to know why Chloe didn't tell Delia the details about Hop's train picking him up alongside Wooloo. Kurune counters that Delia has not been keen on listening to Chloe in the few days she's returned.
** Ikuo also shoots himself in the foot when he tells Goh that not only did he and Kurune just learned that something was wrong with Goh, but also that they never had to work that much since they had investments to keep them apart for years. This means that Goh could have had many times to learn how to actually live in society and not act like the insensitive fool that caused Chloe to run away from home.

** In Chapter 6, Chloe tears Annie's jealousy and bitterness towards Ash into pieces. The first time is when Chloe points out that Trainers don't have glamorous lives as everyone came to believe. The second time is when Annie wants to pin the blame on the forest fire on Ash instead of the dangers that someone wanted to kill a dozen children in their tents and would only care about Chloe and everyone else so her daughter (who does a funerary flower business) would get noticed.

* WhatTheHellHero:
** Amelia calls Lexi out on his [[TookALevelInJerkass taking out his frustrations on the hapless Konifer and rubbing salt in Goh's wounds in the process.]]
--->"We will deal with it [the fake Chloe]! I'm upset too, believe me. But that does NOT excuse what you're doing...both to a victim of some scammer and a victim of at least three traumatic experiences in a row! You are not the only person who misses Chloe on this train, so stop acting like this! Now. APOLOGIZE."
** Chloe calls out all of the adults who were willing to go along with Carl's schemes just for the sake of getting revenge on Ash. She receives plenty of backup from the children they were supposedly doing all this 'for'.
** Carl is ripped a new one once it's revealed that he abandoned Kris for being a 'failure' when he wasn't able to gather all the badges before the Indigo League held its yearly session.
** Gladion gives Tokio an earful for the promise he demanded of Goh, and orders him to apologize the next time they talk.
** Kiawe gives a shorter one for how blasé Ash and Chloe are about Goh’s situation. But they respond that focusing too much on their worries will just make things ''worse'' for everyone, since they can't do anything more on this side of the train and trying to ''board'' it will cause more problems.
