** As the Author's Notes point out, the anime presented Gladion as a hero that boldly called Lusamine out for her ignorance, while glossing over the little detail that Gladion withheld vital information. The part he played in their family's tragedy was never called out, treating his quest for strength as noble self-sacrifice, never mind the impact it had upon others. Least of all Lillie, the one he was supposedly doing this all for.

** [[spoiler:Dark Easter]] notes that the Apex would cheer at the sight of a dead child. [[spoiler: One Apex kid said Chloe deserved her death.]]

** Gladion finally can implement his plan to make the Apex see their memory tapes to help them confront their problems. [[spoiler:He only made things worse when '''every passenger on the Train''' gets affected and the Apex are more irate in trying to end the Gestalt once and for all.]]

** The 400 Rabbits Car runs on this trope, befitting that it's the car that sets the stage for what's going to happen for the rest of the story. For example, the scene of Gladion being thrown into a casket by London in the 400 Rabbits Car is then cut to Dulse acting HotBlooded during Ilima's Ping-Pong match.match. Another one has [[spoiler: London requested by Lampetia to kill her]] cutting to Specter being pushed against his will to go against a moving bridge while comically telling Tokio that his ghost will haunt the boy if this fails [[spoiler:before it cuts back to the aftermath of London turning Lampetia into rubble...]]

Adult Fear is now a disambig

* AdultFear:
** A five-year-old Mallow and her Bounsweet ran away from the hospital after stating that she hated her mother for apologizing on how she got sick (this being the last time she ever saw or spoke to her mother), got sucked onto the Train, and didn't arrive back home for three months, worrying her father and older brother even more than having to see Mallow's mother already passing away.
** Gladion is on the Train and no one except Mallow and perhaps Lusamine even shows any concern about what he might be going through and they won't even know or care about his situation for a few more months. Lillie herself does not give a flying feather if her brother was gone forever.
** Robbie Jewell's fears mirrors that of Tulip Olsen: his parents were divorcing and he hated it and believes that getting something on the Train will magically fix everything.
** Tokio had gone missing for two years and Mallow is horrified to learn that this was all caused by guilt for failing to keep a promise with a friend. And that's not going into what he went through on the Train.

However, not only does [[spoiler: confiding in Phyco]] ultimately change nothing when ''Blossoming Trail'' rolls around, but it makes Mallow look like a hypocrite for [[spoiler: not being willing to confide in the friends she's known for years about the Train, and yet do so for the blue-skinned guy she met recently.]]

** Of grand quests. They're usually romanticized as great things, but the prologue story notes that most people don't want to tell how boring it is, or how people slept in the cold, or how they could be injured without anyone to heal them. And there's no guarantee that all that effort will actually pay off.

Added DiffLines:

** The quest itself has no guarantee of victory, and when it [[spoiler: fails, Gladion's journey just...ends, because he genuinely can't do anything more that won't make things worse or get him stuck onboard the train. The prospect that all that effort and sacrifice didn't amount to anything when something simple and humble would've done the job (at least with his sister) seriously wounds Gladion and kills his self-image as a knight.
