* YourTerroristsAreOurFreedomFighters: The hackers fulfil this purpose and are proud of it. Due to bad publicity, they're often seen as enemies of the Infinite Stratos. While they're not complete warlovers, they didn't took an invasion on Belgium too kindly.

* CluelessChickMagnet: Subverted as Ichika reveals to the guys that it's just an act to stay alive. While the hackers don't approve of it, they don't blame him for putting up the act. They got briefed and had some idea how it worked for Ichika in the academy.

* DarkandTroubledPast: If you thought the girls had problems, these guys got a grade worse. All of the hackers have some problems stemming back and it's often that the Infinite Stratos are responsible. It's only in later chapters some things are revealed.

* AloofBigBrother: Strangely subverted, With a brother who can blow up the entire world and is leader of the only faction who can oppose the Infinite Stratos, you would think that Anaton would have a lot of inferior problems. Still, Kerlongsj and he never seem to care about it. It is often that Anaton impressed his older brother. It's often implied Kerlongsj learns from him.

* AdaptationalBadass: It starts slow, but Ichika grows to a decent fighter thanks to the hackers training. Despite being a pilot himself and a rough start, the hackers have no problem seeing him as own of their own.

* BadassAndChildDuo: Kerlongsj's adopted son, Anaton is the youngest student living at the school, by the age of twelve. The reason why he came over was of his gang members who were all 15, 16 or 17. Still, while Anaton isn't as strong as Kerlongsj, by no doubt, he is strong in his own.

* BattleCouple: In later chapters, there are some more, but the best example are Kerlongsj and Chifuyu. Thanks to their previous training, the two are really good in sync. Despite having a completely different way of fighting, they're both good at fighting in sync. Look for OddCouple for more information regarding their relationship.

* CombatMedic: Being both supportives, Kerlongsj and Anaton are meant to heal wounded soldiers. Still, the two are often thrown in battle as their counterparts and they can make it out alive. For Kerlongsj it's more normal, because he has [[spoiler: Only living hacker who can use the three types of working with nanites]].

* ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem!: The hackers have a reason why they chose Anaton as responsable. It is to avoid the crazy antics of [[StudentCouncilPresident Tatenashi]]. Basically, they don't just screw rules, they just have them. And they hate it when somebody bends them.

* OddCouple: In the author previous work, it is explained how Chifuyu and Kerlongsj became friends and eventually lovers. But only having spent at least two weeks together, they're still trying to find out what their relationship actually is. It's funny if you look on how different the two are. An ultra high class pilot fell in love with a man who leads a faction opposing the world order. Still, those two fell in love and are sometimes more acting like two teens in love instead a grown woman and man.
