* KonamiCode: Referenced by Root in "New Nightmare". Trapped in a simulation, she asks Shaw if reciting the code out loud will give her more ammunition. Shaw responds with [[NoJustNoReaction a flat "No."]]
* MeetTheInLaws: Root meets Shaw's mother in "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle" when the latter's number comes up. Shaw doesn't find out about any of this until after the crisis has been resolved, by which point her mother is baking cookies and Root is going through her family's photo albums.
* TheNicknamer: Bear, as revealed by his thoughts in "The Howling." Shaw is "The Small One", Root is "The Lonely One", Beretta (their cat) is "The Tiny Fluffy One", Reese is "The Tall One", Finch is "The Clever One", the Machine is "The Metal One", and Fusco is "The Loud One".
