* BadPowersGoodPeople: The Bael and, with Venelana marrying Zeoticus, Gremory families' Power of Destruction is a force that can destroy and decay anything it touches, making users gain monikers such as [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Flaxen-Haired Madame of Extinction or Crimson-Haired Princess of Ruin]]. At the same time, the Gremorys are known for treating their servants as members of their own family and are quite fair in their dealings.

* BoringButPractical: During the Cavalry Battle, instead of going for the 10 million point headband and having to deal with whatever [[TheStrategist Izuku]] cooked up, Liana decides to take the headbands from other teams and then stays away from the fighting the moment she has enough of them. This helps to put them in second place. Monoma tried to do the same but made the mistake of going after (and mocking) [[HairTriggerTemper Bakugo]].

** During the Cavalry Battle, [[spoiler:after Ibara snatches Rin's headband, Milia takes advantage of being in a smoke cloud to put the headband on her forehead and the 10 million point headband around her neck in such a way that no one can tell which one is which. When Todoroki takes one of the headbands, he ends up picking the one on her forehead, which prevents him from realizing he didn't get the 10 million point headband until it's too late.]]

** Early in the story, Rias mentions that All Might is also famous in the Underworld and that devils often try to recruit heroes. [[spoiler:All Might reveals in Chapter 32 he knows about the ORC being devils because he's been visited by so many devils trying to recruit him he can spot them a mile away.]]

* IResembleThatRemark: At the USJ, Kirishima remarks to Tetsutetsu that it is rare to see Bakugo act calm and rational because normally he just shouts "DIE!" at the top of his lungs while scowling. Bakugo immediately fires that he is always calm and rational - while scowling and shouting "DIE!" at them at the top of his lungs.

* NakedApron: In Chapter 30, Ochako and Ibara do this, on Aika's advice (and with Inko's help), when Izuku gets home. And then Rias joins them...

* OverlyLongGag: When Xenovia asks Izuku to make a baby with her, Izuku completely [[HeroicBSOD freezes up]], and there's over an entire page worth of lines that just go "..." before he tries to make a break for it.

** Averted in Chapter 39: when the girls find a half-naked Xenovia straddling Izuku, they can tell that Izuku is innocent, so they force Xenovia off and Rias asks Izuku to leave the room before they call Xenovia out for what she was doing. * SuckySchool: As in canon, [[VideoGame/Persona5 Shujin Academy]] is this, with meaningless rumors being passed around about Fuyuko being a slut that sleeps with her teachers for better grades, and while she thinks that the school's volleyball coach Uchishiba is a nice guy who wants to help stop them at first, he soon starts manipulating that trust to get her to act like a personal maid, the principal dismissing her accusations out of hand. When Uchishiba told her to come to his apartment, knowing what that likely meant, she decided to commit suicide just so that it would ''stop'', hoping that her death would lead to an investigation.

* UnexpectedCharacter: Chapter 51 introduces a character no one was expecting, a non-All For One Hizashi Midoriya that didn't abandoned his family. Though it was alluded to many times and that he was simply too busy to come home, the fact that he was able to for Parent's Day was such a surprise, both InUniverse and out.

** Chapter 51. Though it was alluded to many times and that he was simply too busy to come home, the fact that he was able to for Parent's Day was such a surprise, both in and out of universe.

** In Class 1-B, Shoda Nirengeki and Bondo Kojiro are replaced with [[OriginalCharacter Milia]] [[WolverineClaws Taka]][[HornyDevils maki]] and [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Celica A. Mercury]].

** Chapter 51. While mainly a BreatherEpisode, there are a few noteworthy plot developments, namely [[spoiler:Shigaraki being informed that Overhaul has a significant bounty out on information regarding his "daughter", Yasaka and Kunou making an appearance, Giran being paid by a girl in a hood to locate several villains using what is implied to be ''broken Evil Pieces'', Izuku and a large number of the girls interested in him admitting their mutual feelings for each other, and finally Izuku's father showing up.

** Hado Nejire and Amajiki Tamaki show up in the Hero Killer Arc.

** Rias and the other D×D characters begin the story as two years younger than in canon. For example, in canon, she was a third-year while Issei was a second-year when she reincarnated him. Here, she's a first-year high school student while Izuku is a third-year middle school student when she reincarnates him.

** Bakugo's mother ships him and [[spoiler:Mittelt]].

** Bakugo coming up fifth in individual competitions (so far, the Entrance Exam, the Quirk Apprehension Test and the Obstacle Course).

This catches the attention of Rias Gremory, a beautiful girl who just happens to be both a General Studies student at U.A. (Japan's most famous Hero School) and a Devil King. Moved by the intensity of Izuku's wish, as well as intrigued by his hidden power, she revives him by reincarnating him into a devil, as part of her Peerage.

* HiddenInPlainSight: Due to the advent of Quirks, the supernatural has been interacting with the mortal realm more openly as any oddities can simply be dismissed as a Quirk. The only individuals who would have to worry about [[BrokenMasquerade breaking the masquerade]] are those who have both Quirks and Sacred Gears, or some other supernatural power, like Momo's lightning, and even then, Momo passing her power off as a second Quirk being believed by the ORC, and Bakugo not finding anything unusual about Ibara using Twilight Healing in him in the USJ incident implies that such excuses aren't uncommon.

* SpannerInTheWorks: Ibara sneaking a vial of holy water and a cross into the Rating Game [[spoiler:proves vital for Izuku's plan to defeat Riser by exploiting devil's weaknesses to both, making him lose his regenerative power in a critical moment and allowing Izuku to knock him out.]]
* SparedByTheAdaptation:
** Rias, after asking for Izuku and Ibara's opinion, spares Raynare here. [[spoiler:She then joins up with the [[Manga/BungoStrayDogs Port Mafia]] and returns during the Entrance Exam and the Excalibur of the Moonlit Schoolyard Arcs.]]
** Mittelt was spying on Raynare for Azazel here, so she leaves Raynare's group before Rias takes them out.
* SpiderPeople: Lailah is a sadistic [[spoiler:angel]] woman whose Quirk gives her spider abilities and traits.
* StealthHiBye: The entire Armed Detective Agency bolts when Doctor Yosano shows up to find someone to go shopping with, leaving Bakugo, Monoma and Atsushi to their luck.

** Izuku gets [[AmplifierArtifact Boosted Gear]], the powers of a [[MagikarpPower Pawn]] and his draconic inheritance. This gives him SuperStrength, the ability to fly and fire long-range attacks, a gauntlet that can multiply all of his physical abilities to the point he can become a God-killing LightningBruiser and summon a PowerArmor and the ability to take up the powers of the [[MightyGlacier Rook]], [[FragileSpeedster Knight]], [[MagicKnight Bishop]] or [[JackOfAllTrades Queen]] if he needs them. [[spoiler:Then All Might gives him One for All and Izuku manages (with [[SpiritAdvisor Ddraig]]'s help) to use its strength-boosting powers much sooner, [[AbilityMixing combining it with Boosted Gear]] up to a certain point and developing Dragon Veil (the fic's equivalent of Full Cowl) faster.]]
** [[spoiler:In canon, All Might was able to defeat the USJ Nomu by pummeling it with three hundred rapid-fire punches. Here, it takes '''''500''''' hits to defeat even though All Might still has One for All. It's later heavily hinted that the Nomu might have been a Phenex Family member, which would give him a pure-blood devil's inherent toughness and the Phenex's HealingFactor.]]

** Ibara, Kyoka, Momo, and Ochako appear several months before the exams, and Itsuka Kendo shows up for the first time during the exams instead of during the School Festival Arc.

* ContrivedCoincidence: Out of all the students the electricity villain could have tried to use as a hostage, she picked Yura Tsubasa, who has a Quirk that allows her to turn herself non-conductive and absorb energy to use it.

** Mirio reveals that he and Sir Nighteye had a falling out, with the implication it being related to [[spoiler:the former's RefusualToTheCall regarding One For All]].

* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Instead of Izuku, the Sludge Villain attacked Kyoka and Momo. This means that Izuku never meets All Might until the first Heroics class. But that said, this becomes subverted when the pair do become to form a relationship similar to seen in canon, as [[spoiler:All Might chooses to to give Izuku One For All]].

* PaperThinDisguise: [[spoiler:Most of 1-A knew Todoroki was a girl.]]

** [[spoiler:Almost all of Class 1-A knew Todoroki's real gender, with Izuku, Mineta and Kaminari only learning about it during the Sports Festival. According to them, [[PaperThinDisguise it wasn't much of a secret]] due to Todoroki giving out too many hints.]]

*** Ochako's old babysitter, Mizu, is a Kamar-Taj Sorcerer, and an apprentice to the Sorcerer Supreme ComicBook/DrStrange.

* ColorFailure: [[spoiler:When Irina impulsively kisses Izuku when he comes to see her off at the airport, Rias, Ibara, Ochako, Ravel, and Momo all go white with shock]].

** Momo gets Akeno's lightning and [[CombatSadomasochist BDSM tendencies]], [[spoiler:as well as backstory as the daughter of a Fallen Angel she is estranged with.]]

* ElevatorSchool: U.A. adopted the system a year before the story started starting from elementary school to university; although the high school, with its hero course, is considered the main school. Rias says that her father had a hand in it. Meta-wise, it's an obvious action to keep the [=ORC=] together, since Koneko is still in middle school.

* EvilVsEvil: The Port Mafia are far from heroes, but they want to stop Kokabiel from starting a war between the Three Powers, presumably to preserve their profits.
** They also apparently don't get along with the Shie Hassaikai, [[spoiler:as when Overhaul sends word out for Eri's return after she escapes, he states that he doesn't want the Port Mafia to know.]]

** Chapter 35's big reveal, [[spoiler:that Todoroki is a girl,]] gets much foreshadowing (post-OrwellianRetcon).

** Due to the rise of Quirks and subsequent "dark age" brought about by the chaos Quirks caused, various organized religions faced upheaval, causing damage to the Supernatural factions. Many religions that weren't compatible with Quirks died out, while others had to adapt to maintain some level of influence. Rias notes that the Abrahamic religions in particular were hit hard, the number of followers reduced to less than a quarter of what they once were. She also notes that Sirzechs told her that, initially, the Satans had planned on [[ToUnmasqueTheWorld revealing themselves]] so as to try and allieviate the chaos, but decided against it out of fearing making things worse.

** [[spoiler:Mirio ended up leaving Nighteye’s agency over what happened with him after he turned down One For All]].

* HeroicRROD: Because Quirks are biological functions, there are set limits as to how much an individual can use them. Aoyama Yuga is noted to be the most extreme example, only being able to use his Quirk, Navel Laser, for one second before causing [[PottyEmergency internal distress]], though just like muscle overcompensation, this is mitigated by constant use and training.

* MakeItLookLikeAnAccident: [[spoiler:When Slidin' Go is tasked to kill Shujin's principal by the Meta Liberation Army, he's given explicit orders to ensure that the death is this or NeverSuicide. That said, he didn't do a great job as the method is by stabbing and the death, at least from their view, is now considered suspicious due to its timing]].

** Also averted when [[spoiler:the girls overhear that Tiamat wants Izuku to be her daughter’s mate. Once Izuku explains how the whole mess is Ddraig’s fault, they don’t blame him.]]
