* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: The threatening phone call in Chapter 4 in which Prussia threatens to conquer the UK is never mentioned again for the rest of the story.
** The ''entirety'' of Chapter 7 contributed nothing to the plot and only served to give Ariana a 'tragic' backstory. And on that note, Chapter 8 was also a throwaway chapter in which nothing happened.
* ButtMonkey: Mattie is often put at the butt of ''every'' joke, to the point where almost every other line in Chapter 12 was a jab at how forgettable and invisible she is. She was randomly assaulted numerous times in Chapter 7, skipped during Sealand's run to give all of the genderbends ice cream in Chapter 6, whapped in the violently in the face with a stick in Chapter 13, among other things.
* TheChrisCarterEffect: The real main plot didn't come in until very late into the fanfic, with general shenanigans and small disconnected evil acts by Prussia thrown in for dramatic effect in the meantime.

* CriticalResearchFailure: Most egregiously is how the author had literally no knowledge of Prussia or Canada's human names when making the story, so she gave the Canadian swap a random name and gave the Prussian swap a name with 'Pru' in the beginning.
** It's pointed out by the author in the final author's note that the Baltic States should no longer be living under Russia's roof, as the Soviet Union had fallen long before the fic's story begins.
** Not only this, but Yiesha's weapon should be a butcher's knife, not a wok like her counterpart wields.
** Failing to realize that Prussia should be living under the same roof as Germany and not in some big house in a wasteland, the author quickly formulated the excuse that Prussia had purchased an entire apartment building out in the middle of nowhere just for this plan.
** At the time of writing the fic, the author didn't even have any idea that ''Axis Powers Hetalia'' already had official gender bends of the main characters, called 'Nyotalia', and thus her descriptions of the characters and their personalities were very incongruent with the canon and more or less inferior.
* DesignatedHero: Allison, specifically in Chapter 12, wherein she heroically sets out to save Ariana and Francisca from Prussia but ends up getting involved in an ego-spurred argument while Mattie does all of the rescuing. Not to mention, before this, Allison abused, insulted, and undermined Mattie on the way to Prussia's place and even went as far as to steal her credit card and use it for the remainder of the entire fic. She even strands Mattie millions of miles away from home with no money by the end of the chapter. ''That'' is not a heroic act by any stretch of the imagination.

* RonTheDeathEater: No matter which canon you believe in, there is not a single one in which Prussia would kidnap teenage girls, use them to blackmail the other countries, and eventually [[spoiler:plan to murder them all just to get them out of the way]]. And speaking of which, his gender bend has literally no reason to go along with his plans and has been Ron The Death Eatered, too.

* DistressBall: Francisca and Ariana are kidnapped out of nowhere just so that Kameron, Nathaniel, Robynne, and Elliot can be introduced into the plot, and also so the author could write a chapter where Mattie and Allison have to embark on a journey to save them.
* DullSurprise: Mattie, in this exchange from Chapter 18:

* {{Flanderization}}: Happens to every character, whether or not they're canon. * FlatCharacter: Most all of the characters can be described with one word or character trait, but the character who especially falls victim to this is Nathaniel, whose only character trait is an action, which is to stalk and scare Iscah for no funny or plot-relevant reason. It just sort of...''happens''.
* TheGenericGuy: Elliot becomes this because apparently 'the author didn't pay attention to the episodes with Hungary in them' and slowly becomes a generic forced love interest for Robynne, who in and of herself is pretty generic.
* TheGhost: Oddly enough, Yiesha--China's swap--turns into this by the end, save for a few useless lines that could have easily been said by anyone else. Hell, even Mattie, whose characterizing trait is her forgetableness, has a more prominent and memorable role than Yiesha.

* MarySue: Generally, whomever's point of view the reader is seeing through is a Mary-Sue in the context of the story. Ariana, the character who has the most time of all of the bends, is constantly shown to be 'the leader' of the bends and the most competent and capable of them all in any capacity, though England, her counterpart, shows little to none of this proficiency.
** When the POV switched to Mattie (formerly known as Alexis) in Chapter 12, "Heroes and Helicopters", she was shown to somehow 'also' possess these abilities, as she was more than capable of finding the imprisoned gender swaps with minimal effort and capable of doing more to help than Allison, who was easily more experienced with the sort of mission the two had embarked on.
** Robynne--who only had the POV once--was also a major Mary-Sue, as she was apparently suddenly one of the best sword-wielders in the group out of nowhere and was able to go toe to toe with Prudence for an unrealistic amount of time until she was defeated...and even then, she somehow managed to live through injuries that would otherwise be more than fatal if inflicted on a girl her age.
** Kierra, who was also handed the POV for a brief time, managed to dance through the final battle, ''through troves of armed, dangerous enemies'' while killing many of her adversaries and coming out ''completely unharmed''. It doesn't matter how proficient Japan may be with a sword in canon, ''Kierra is not literally Japan as a girl and shouldn't be able to do this regardless''. Besides, even Japan himself would not be capable of such a feat, much less a little girl with little to no sword training and no relation to him at all besides looking and acting the same.
* NightmareFuel: Prudence's mutilation of Robynne was meant to be Nightmare Fuel--as explicitly stated by the author--but it comes off more as a cheap reason for Robynne to be incapacitated than as a real attempt at horror.

only had the POV once--was also a major Mary-Sue, as she was apparently suddenly one of the best sword-wielders in the group out of nowhere and was able to go toe to toe with Prudence for an unrealistic amount of time until she was defeated...and even then, she somehow managed to live through injuries that would otherwise be more than fatal if inflicted on a girl her age. And Kierra, age.
**Kierra,
who was also handed the POV for a brief time, managed to dance through the final battle, ''through troves of armed, dangerous enemies'' while killing many of her adversaries and coming out ''completely unharmed''.

** Another retcon occurs when it is revealed at the end that Allison never needed her glasses, even though it was proven in Chapter 2 that Allison 'did' need the glasses.

There is no proof whatsoever that Prussia was forcing her to commit any crimes against her will, and in fact, she was displayed to be quite pleased with her actions on numerous occasions. Even in the sequel story, the most comeuppance she gets is being rightfully despised by Robynne and openly trusted by everyone else, [[spoiler:including Allison, who she killed]].
When the POV switched to Mattie (formerly known as Alexis) in Chapter 12, "Heroes and Helicopters", she was shown to somehow 'also' possess these abilities, as she was more than capable of finding the imprisoned gender swaps with minimal effort and capable of doing more to help than Allison, who was easily more experienced with the sort of mission the two had embarked on. * RetCon: Canada's gender bend's name was unceremoniously changed from Alexis to Mattie at the beginning of Chapter 5. The author originally claimed that this is because 'she forgot Canada's human name', but she later admitted that it was because she had no knowledge of what Canada's human name actually was and made up her name on the spot.

In short, the plot centers around a girl named Ariana Kirkland, an American girl who is kidnapped from her home by mysterious men. She soon finds out that she, along with the seven other girls who were kidnapped, is a gender bend of the countries, though as young children instead of adults. It is also revealed that Prussia is the one responsible for this incident, as he wants to become a country again by blackmailing the countries whose gender bends he's kidnapped into making him an official country again. From there on, the plot follows Ariana and the other gender bends as they attempt to thwart Prussia's plans for world domination however they can.
