* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Chapter 6: "The Aftermath," has a long talk between both Hiccup and Stoick that boils down to this- both Hiccup and Stoick had their reasons for doing the things they did during the events of the film, bringing up Stoick's past experience, Hiccup's track record of converting villains to friends, and both admitting that both of them made missteps in how they handled the Drago situation. They agree to try to work past this and to avert PoorCommunicationKills in the future.

* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Hiccup admits that this was part of the problem in the events of the second film regarding the relationship with his father- while Stoic was absolutely correct on his assessment on Drago's personality and prediction of actions, Hiccup at that point had a track record of turning villains that were absolutely sure to be enemies with Berk forever into allies, name dropping Alvin, Dagur, and even Viggo had a HeelFaceTurn, sacrificing himself to save Hiccup and befriending dragons. Stoic points out that that's a pretty good track record as to why Hiccup thought he could turn Drago. Later in the same conversation, though, Hiccup points out that Johan, Krogan, and Ryker were villains he faced that stayed villainous, admitting that he should have taken those failures into account with Drago. Stoick also agrees there and admits that he should have explained himself better about why he felt the way he did about Drago.
** Stoic points out that one of the reasons that he and Hiccup tend to clash is that Hiccup is a planner, while Stoic is a do-er. Both have their strengths, but it does mean that they will naturally butt heads over the correct course of action.

These examples of Surprisingly Realistic Outcome seem to violate at least one of these rules, which disqualifies them: No character reactions (characters get angry, don't forgive, don't change their personality instantly, etc.); Too fantastical (depends on the properties of magic, powers, sci-fi tech, monsters, etc.); Not surprising (a character was warned about the outcome, it's used to provide Karma or An Aesop, or it simply follows normal conventions for this genre or medium); Plot happens (the example only describes an event, but not why audiences would expect a different, unrealistic outcome); Not an outcome (a character just explains why something wouldn't work as expected); More of a Deconstruction (the event has major, lasting effects on the plot, make something more realistic, but not completely realistic, or a parody/fanwork applies realistic consequences to the events of a different work); or fits better under a different trope. See the trope's definition for more details. If you believe a removal was a mistake, please bring it up in the cleanup thread.

* ItsAllMyFault: Unlike in canon, Drago doesn't take Toothless with him. Not wanting to risk Toothless falling under the control of Drago's Bewilderbeast's again, Hiccup decides to stay behind with Toothless at the ice nest while the others go to stop Drago from conquering Berk. This allows Hiccup some time to reflect on recent events and blames himself for making Berk Drago's next target.
