* RebuiltPedestal: Chell becomes outraged and disillusioned with Wheatley when [[DirtyCoward he suggests to abandon the residents of Eaden]] and just have the two escape together. Her entire journey in the facility continues to have her question whether or not a robot like Wheatley is capable of emotions at all. Fortunately this is cleared up when Wheatley returns and saved her and the other Eaden inhabitants by sacrificing himself to shut down GLaDoS.

* TarotMotifs: Mentioned in the chapter "The Oracle." The Oracle Turret does a Tarot reading for Wheatley, and it's very clear that Wheatley is TheFool, Chell is [[TheDeterminator Strength]], and GLaDOS is [[MyBelovedSmother The Empress.]]

* TemptingFate: [[spoiler: Cubicle-drone]] Wheatley does this in a flashback by stating that he '(doesn't) have anything life-altering planned in the forseeable future.'
