To Saki's shock, her mother grabbed and hugged her while crying; shock, especially since the last time they talked, her mother threw her out; she asked her mother why she was talking to her. Saki's mother begged her to forgive her, revealing that her father told her everything; shocked, Saki asked why her father would tell her the truth; Saki's mother revealed that her father came home drunk and accidentally revealed that he forced himself on Saki. While Saki was not angry or resentful towards her mother, she was not interested in forgiving her either because of her actions, with the love and trust Saki had in her mother gone. When Saki's mother asks if they can talk and notices Saki's daughter and uneasily ask if her daughter's father is Saki's father, Saki coldly tells her mother that her father is not the father of her daughter and that she has to go. Saki's mother said please, if I had known the truth earlier, I would've never kicked you out, only for Saki to say while holding back tears, you left me when I needed you most, I always came to you when I was sad, and I trusted you. I'm glad you know the truth, but I can't not in front of my Hana; she then bought groceries and left with her daughter.
* FirstFriend: Chinami, a single mother that lives in the same apartment complex as Saki Yoshida, became her first friend when she moved into her apartment. Their friendship started when Chinami and her son welcomed Saki and her daughter Hana with food. Saki and Chinami's friendship is built on the fact that they are both single mothers raising their children whose parents threw them out of the house. Chinami is also a kind and caring person who genuinely cares about Saki and wants to be her friend. Saki thanked Chinami for being her friend and confessed that Chinami was the first friend she made. Chinami admitted that she was glad to be friends with Saki since she was being lonely with no one to befriend.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Saki Yoshida goes out with her friend Chinami shopping. Chinami sees a beautiful and revealing dress and suggests Saki gets to dress for herself. Chinami, unaware of Saki's past of being a prostitute and in abusive relationships, does not notice how uncomfortable Saki is with the dress because of how revealing it is. Saki does not hold it against Chinami and shares her discomfort with the dress without revealing her past; after talking with Chinami about her discomfort with how revealing the dress is, Saki decides to get the dress for herself, only for her to realize that the dress is too expensive for her.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Saki Yoshida's mother threw her out of her home when her husband lied to her about being seduced by Saki when in fact, he molested and forced her to sleep with him. Years later, when Saki Yoshida is grocery shopping with her daughter Hana, Saki meets her mother, and to her shock, Saki's mother grabs and hugs her. When Saki asked why her mother was talking to her, Saki's mother revealed that her husband told her the truth, that while drunk, he accidentally revealed that he forced himself on Saki. It is clear that Saki's mother is heartbroken and horrified by the horrible mistake of throwing out her daughter and believing her husband's lies. Crying, Saki's mother apologizes to her daughter and begs for her forgiveness. While happy that her mother knows the truth, Saki cannot forgive her mother and tells her she can't talk to her right now in front of her daughter and leaves the supermarket with her daughter.
* WhatTheHellHero: Saki Yoshida, while shopping for groceries with her daughter Hana, was shocked to meet her mother, who she had not seen since her mother threw her out of her house when her husband lied to her mother saying that Saki seduced him when he in fact molested and forced his daughter to sleep with him. To Saki's shock, her mother grabbed her and hugged her crying. Saki asked her mother why she was talking to her; Saki's mother told her daughter that her husband told her the truth, that while drunk, he accidentally revealed that he forced himself on Saki. Saki's mother begs for her daughter's forgiveness. While Saki does not feel anger or resentment towards her mother, she is still hurt by her mother's actions and cannot forgive her. Saki told her mother that she had to go and leave with her daughter. When Saki's mother said that she would've never kicked her out if she had no the truth earlier, Saki told her that while she was glad that her mother knew the truth, her mother still left her when she needed her the most; she can't talk to her mother now in front of her own daughter.
