* For a while, some fans wrote AUs for "Escaping Expulsion" where Luz's deal with the Blight parents involved her agreeing (sometimes unknowingly) to be their SexSlave for a set amount of time; BreakTheCutie sets in quickly and all of Luz's friends and the Owl House residents are ''pissed'' once the truth comes out, with some stories involving Alador and Odalia being murdered over it and most of them involving Amity and the twins disowning their parents in absolute disgust.

* Since Hunter gets a scroll at the end of "Any Sport in a Storm", many fics feature him being technologically illiterate and having to be taught how to text, evidenced by how he is apparently a ''very'' slow typer. The next episode confirms this given how many puncuation errors he makes.

** Another popular idea since "King's Tide" is for [[spoiler: The Collector]] to undergo a HeelFaceTurn.

* Stories that retells the events of ''Lost in Language'' will always change the events of the diary incident so that Amity is made aware of Luz defending her from her siblings rather than her believing that Luz is on board with them due to a misunderstanding.

* When it comes to fan fictions that retells the series, ''Once Upon a Swap'' will almost always be AdaptedOut due to the episodes being perceived as a glorified filler that doesn't add anything to the overaching story.

* Crossovers with ''Franchise/LittleWitchAcademia'' are common, due to both shows having a very similar premise (a {{Muggle}} with an AmbiguousDisorder and brown hair attends a school for witches and has endless romantic subtext with a green-haired witch prodigy). These stories often has [[ObviousCrossoverMethod Luna Nova be another school on the Boiling Isles]], and Luz and Akko bond over their similar struggles with magic. Wether Akko is a witch or another human in these stories vary, as do the age difference; Either sticking with the idea that the green, blue and red teams are close in age to Luz and her friends (canonically, the teen cast of ''Little Witch Academia'' are two years older than Luz), or going with the idea that Akko & co are an older generation, already adults by the time Luz ends up on the boiling isles.

* Many fans make the witch that Caleb Wittebane (likely) knocked up either a member of the Clawthorne family or their progenitress, thus making both her and Caleb distant ancestors of Eda and Lilith.

** Luz either keeps or regains her [[spoiler:[[SuperMode Titan powers and form]]]], often with emphasis on Amity's reaction to them.
** Detailing the events that occurred during the TimeSkip, especially Hunter [[spoiler: getting a new Palisman.]]
* Humans adapting to the Boiling Isles is a semi-common motif in fandoms. On the lighter end is the idea of a human slowly growing a bile sac over their heart, while in more extensive examinations humans will undo a SlowTransformation into Witches the longer they stay in the Boiling Isles, sometimes automatically and sometimes based on the Titan's will. Naturally Luz would be more on board with this than Philip.

* In general, Luz is often written as being far less ObliviousToLove than she is in the show and the only reason the two of them aren't together yet is that neither one works up the nerve to tell the other how they feel.

* A lot of stories focus on Amity making amends with Willow while simultaneously breaking things off with Boscha.
