* AllDeathsFinal: The Resurrection spell is explicitly said to have been banned by the Church because they believe the spell is "playing God", something that they heavily discourage. Anyone resurrected from this state would permanently be an EmptyShell. [[spoiler:Or, if particularly malicious in life, will [[CameBackWrong come back as a revenant hellbent on destroying life]].]]

''Soldiers of Fortune'': Eight mercenaries unite over a common goal - to find out who is behind the "threat" affecting the kingdom and the source of brief, if intense, sessions of pain that only they are affected by. By the time they find out the truth, they're the only ones left capable of neutralising it.

''Flight of the Phoenix'': In the wake of a prophecy, the Kingdom of Rune-Midgard declares the War of Emperium - a friendly mercenary guild competition to determine who will defend the Kingdom from the enemies mentioned in the prophecy. It soon becomes an ugly affair of politics and backstabbing between several guilds, including the newly born Raulus guild.

''The Legend Reborn'': Ten years after the events of the previous instalment, the prophecy begins to start coming true. With the Kingdom in trouble and despair running high among the civilians, a race of "superhumans" come to their aid - but their real motivation remains unknown, and so does the motivations of their enemies.

The prequel ''War of the Frontier'' features the Battle of Al'Zahur and explains how things are the way they are in ''Soldiers of Fortune''.

* PlayingWithFire: Emeth, as one of his specialised spells is Meteor Storm.

* PleasurePlanet: Comodo, City of Pleasure.

* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: The members of the Raulus party were only united by one common cause: they shared the same unexplained recurring MindRape. They don't intend to do much more than help find the source of the portal, but suddenly they're the ''only'' ones left who can do something about it. [[TeethClenchedTeamwork So they resign themselves to it.]]

* SexyPriest: Samaroh is the posterboy in the fanfic. He and his friends are highly aware of this.

* ShoutOut:
** It seems that the old name of Biers, the pub for the differently-alive, has moved to Prontera's main tavern - the Crown and Axe.
** Samaroh occasionally lampshades about people asking him for free heals without so much as a thanks, referencing the "HEAL PLZ" MemeticMutation.

* SoiledCityOnAHill: Glast Heim.

* TeleportersAndTransporters: The major teleportation network run by Kafra Corp serves as a way to connect major cities in and out of the kingdom, provided you pay the fee for the service. Teleporting is called "warping". People can also warp using magically imbued Fly and Butterfly Wings.
** There are portals as well, but they can be only created with old magic, which humans can't use. Emeth specifically explains the difference between warps and portals in ''Soldiers of Fortune''.

* TranslationConvention: The fanfic is written in English, but it's specified that all characters are actually speaking New Runic, the CommonTongue of the Kingdom. According to the footnotes, New Runic is based off English even though it's written in runes, justifying the puns and wordplay.

* TheXOfY: ''Warriors of the World'', ''War of the Frontier'', ''Soldiers of Fortune'', ''Flight of the Phoenix''.
