* FullNameUltimatum: When Ariana and Ginny do a striptease down to their bikinis after drinking too much butterbeer, Harry and Ron yell at them using their full names - except the author thinks Ginny is short for "Virginia" and also gives her the middle name "Rosemary" and it's never been mentioned in canon if Ginny even has a middle name. Ariana's middle name is apparently "Adora", which was the name her mother used to call herself when she was pretending to be a princess. One of the sporkers point out how weird it is to name your child after your make-believe princess persona uou had as a nine-year-old.

The characters are four years apart, not thirty - just because it's squicky doesn't mean it's a May December Romance.

* AgeGapRomance: Ariana and Neville fall in love when she's eleven and he's fifteen. They continue to date throughout the entire fic.

* AffectionateNickname: Ariana, Ginny and Hermione decide to give each other nicknames, except they are actually ''longer'' than their names - Ariana becomes "Pathological", Ginny becomes "Ginger snap" and Hermione becomes "Squeaks" (because, according to Ariana, "Minnie" is a nickname from Hermione and it makes her think of Minnie Mouse. Actually Minnie is a nickname for "Wilhemina".)
** Sirius claims he used to call Tabitha "Tabby Cat" and she'd call him "Dog Star".

* ArtisticLicenseOrnithology: Sprite, Ariana's pet owl, is supposedly so smart that she understands everything Ariana says, can do tricks and even holds grudges against anybody who is mean to Ariana. Owls are actually some of the least-intelligent species of birds because they have relatively smalls brains compared to the size of their heads. To be fair, the owls in the Harry Potter universe tend to be a bit smarter than average (which can be explained with magic), but even the smartest of them like Hedwig still act like actual animals, unlike Ariana's owl, which has to be unrealistically perfect since she's just an extension of Ariana herself.

* CharacterShilling: Ariana, of course, especially in regards to how "powerful" her Empath abilities even though they rarely help when she's in serious danger and people also frequently bring up how "kind and selfless" Ariana is, even though she constantly demands everyone around her bend to her whims at all times and frequently butts into situations nothing to do with her to make herself look good.

* CompressedVice: In the sixth year, as everyone is leaving for the Hogwarts Express, Maria and her lackies shove Ariana in a cupboard and lock her inside so she'll miss the train. Ariana proceeds to have a massive FreakOut and when Snape finds her in hysterics she explains to him that she's scared of dark, enclosed spaces because of mean pranks from her old school. This has never been mentioned before and of course gets dropped again after this, and Snape is forced to fly Ariana home to Sirius on a broom.

* HotForTeacher[=/=]HotForStudent: After graduating, Neville becomes the new Herbology professor. He and Ariana ''still'' date.

to:

* HotForTeacher[=/=]HotForStudent: After graduating, Neville becomes the new Herbology professor. He and Ariana ''still'' date.date, which the author tries to justify because they were together before he became a teacher.

** In the second year, Ariana is upset because she's not allowed to go to Hogsmeade with Harry and the others, so she wanders around the grounds by herself and encounters a rat who seems to mysteriously understand what she says. She proceeds to tell it her life story ''and'' that she's the adopted daughter of Sirius and Harry's "little sister". She then proceeds to be ''shocked'' when it turns out the rat is actually Wormtail and he just told everything she said to Voldemort.

* InformedAttribute: Ariana and Neville are supposedly madly in love, but it's suspiciously easy for Neville to start mistrusting Ariana just because Maria told him she kissed Harry. (Which wasn't even a lie, technically speaking.)

* RapeAsDrama: Draco makes multiple attempts to rape Ariana.

She spends most of her time attacking anybody who is mean to Ariana, playing "pranks" and in one scene she flies around annoying the Hogwarts teachers, divebombing them and even ''dipping Dumbledore's beard in his pumpkin juice'', which of course all the teachers find "uproariously funny".

* TookALevelInDumbass: ''Nobody'' in this story retains their canon intelligence, but Harry, Sirius, Hermione and Voldemort get hit with it the worst. Sirius acts like an eight-year-old for much of the series despite the fact he spent twelve years in Azkaban, Hermione doesn't even consider her career once she leaves Hogwarts until Ariana tells her she should write a new Potions textbook and Voldemort is laughably incompetent - his captives always escape from his "traps" after he pointlessly tortures them for a bit.

* AllTakeAndNoGive: This is generally Ariana's relationship with her friends and family after she's adopted by Sirius - every instalment has a scene of Ariana opening Christmas presents given to her, but we never hear of ''her'' buying presents for her loved ones.

Hilariously, in the fourth year, when he gets Ariana alone, he starts feeling her up, but only touches her sides and back, and starts chasing her around a wooden table. Ariana then goes on to brazenly claim that Maria hates Ariana because Ariana does everything better than her and is jealous, but Ariana then says she never retaliated or let Maria get to her (except for the time she kissed Harry on a dare). This is ''blatantly'' not true, as Ariana responds to Maria's taunts with tantrums, crying to her friends, at one point using it to wriggle out of a serious punishment from Professor McGonagall and Ariana is always the one who abuses her "Empath powers" to attack Maria with no consequences for Ariana - whereas Maria and her friends hitting her with a spell got them letters sent home, four months detention and banned from going to Hogsmeade for the rest of the year. Ariana also complains that Maria constantly insults her friends and plays pranks on her, yet Ariana has done exactly the same thing which she dismisses as "getting mad sometimes."

Over the course of seven fics, Ariana comes to Hogwarts, befriends all the characters that the author likes, discovers she is an "Empath," which therefore makes her VERY SPESHUL AND POWERFULZ, Voldemort (whose main job is to hatch a repetitive plot once a year) decides she's more important than Harry and focuses on alternatively killing her or stealing her powers, and...that's really all there is. Except the author also decided to throw in {{Wangst}} out the wazoo, [[TastesLikeDiabetes sappy scenes in which the main cast talks about how they'll be together forever and ever]] ([[ItsAllAboutMe for Ariana's sake]]), love melodrama...anything to pad the story out to seven fics. Characters are nothing more than OOC dopplegangers, the taming of the SSnape Snape occurs... Were you surprised?

Lolicon and shotacon have been disambiguated. Links with too little context are being removed - "paedo" is not always a trope, examples where the tropeworthiness is unclear are being removed. Also, please do not use "loli" as a synonym for little girl; see Lolicon And Shotacon as to why not

* {{Lolicon}}: Not only were Neville and Draco attracted to eleven-year-old Ariana when they were fifteen, but seventeen-year-old Dudley is attracted to Ariana the next year, and Neville's Uncle Algie comments that he would steal Ariana from Neville if only he were younger--at the time, Ariana is ''twelve.'' '''[[{{Squick}} Ew!]]'''

* AlphaBitch: Maria fits all the hallmarks of this, complete with being from a rich family, picking on the main heroine, and having her own GirlPosse.

* AlphaBitch: Maria [[ScarySue Maria]] fits all the hallmarks of this, complete with being from a rich family, picking on the main heroine, and having her own GirlPosse.GirlPosse. Ariana, in a SHOCKING turn of events, fits many of these tropes too. She whines and bitches all through the seven terrible fics, complete with misise of powers and regular bullying with no repercussion, and gets blatant favouritism and her own posse of year one OCs after Harry and the gang leave.
