* As ShipToShipCombat is averted in the ''WesternAnimation/AdventuresOfTheGalaxyRangers'' fandom, {{Fanon}} will have Doc and Zach taking this route when it comes to [[FanPreferredCouple Shane and Niko]].
* In ''Film/TheAvengers2012'' fandom, it would be easier to list Steve/Tony fanfics that ''don't'' contain this trope. Steve and Tony are always the last Avengers to know how much they want each other. A very common ending to stories in which those two get together is [[SideBet money changing hands]] among the rest of the Avengers. Other pairings get this as well, but not to the same extent.
* In the ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'' fandom, most [[FoeYayShipping Shizaya]] fan fics apply this trope, with varying degrees. Honestly, it'd be easier to list all the ones that ''don't''.
* A lot of the ''Film/Ghostbusters2016'' fics seem to involve everyone in the world having realized that Erin and Holtzmann have fallen madly in love with each other except, of course, for Erin and/or Holtzmann themselves.
* The canon Everyone Can See It scenes for America and England are common in ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'' fanfiction; just ''try'' and find a {{UST}}-heavy America/England fanfic that doesn't portray them as practically the only ones in the world who don't realize that they're in love with each other, with every single other character either [[LampshadeHanging commenting on this]] or trying to [[ShipperOnDeck push them]] into resolving their [[BelligerentSexualTension BST]] once and for all. One example is ''FanFic/YouCantTakeTheSkyAwayFromMe'', in which even children and people who've chatted with just ''one'' of them for all of two minutes pick up on America and England's feelings for each other.
** Additionally, while America/England is easily the pairing that gets this treatment the most in fanfic, it's hardly the only one; there are a ''lot'' of fanfics where either Romano fervently denies that he has feelings for Spain and everyone else whispers "{{tsundere}}" behind his back, Germany says that he's JustFriends with Italy and everyone else wishes they would just get together ''already'', or Japan insists that he never had sex with Greece and everyone else goes "Riiiight." That's not even all the pairing examples; to list every one of them would essentially be listing every single APH pairing that has at least one member being {{Tsundere}} or ObliviousToLove.
* In ''Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha Toward the World's End'', just about every single character other than themselves can see how Arthur feels about Nanoha. Jokes abound about "Lovers Intunition" between the two, and it is hinted that Nanoha even returns Arthur's feelings, except of course, just as she can't see his, he can't see hers.
* {{Fanon}} causes almost ''every'' ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' [=NaruHina=] fic to treat [[ShrinkingViolet Hinata]]'s crush on [[ObliviousToLove Naruto]] like this. In canon, only Hinata's teacher Kurenai is really observant enough to realize that Hinata has feelings for Naruto, while Sakura (one of the characters in fanfics who most often {{facepalm}}s at how clueless Naruto is about it) never really realized it until later [[spoiler:after Hinata nearly sacrificed her life to save Naruto from Pain]].
* An astonishing number of ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' fanfics apply this trope to [[HeterosexualLifePartners Stan and Kyle]].
* A common staple of ''WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}}'' fanfics is that everyone in the ZPD precinct can tell that Nick and Judy have feelings for each other. In some stories, the various officers even take bets on when the two of them will finally realize they belong together.

* All over the place in the ''Manga/TsubasaReservoirChronicle'' and ''Manga/XxxHolic'' [[AlternateUniverseFic fanfic]] ''Fanfic/{{Freefall}}'', for at least three different pairings.

* In the ''Series/Supergirl2015'' fic ''Fanfic/FutureShock,'' everyone who knows either of them can see that Cat and Kara have it bad for each other.
* The main pairing of ''Fanfic/BeyondHeroes: Of Sunshine and Red Lyrium'' is gradually recognized by everyone who spends more than five minutes with them. The only reason it takes them more than thirty chapters to get together is the fact that [[VideoGame/DragonAgeInquisition Varric]] [[ObliviousToLove doesn't know]].
* ''Fanfic/SonOfTheSannin'': In addition to the tradition of having everyone in a 25 mile radius be able to pick up on Hinata's crush on Naruto, most people (sans [[ObliviousToLove Naruto]]) seem to be aware of [[BelligerentSexualTension the true nature]] of Kiba and Tamaki's constant bickering.

* ''Fanfic/LearningToBloom'':
** Jaune's crush on Pyrrha is very obvious. Pyrrha knew of it before even he himself did.
** Implied with Pyrrha and Weiss. Even Jaune and Neptune felt there was something between the two.
* ''Fanfic/{{Paradise}}'': Luna's crush on Chosen Oak is a poorly kept secret in their herd.
* ''Fanfic/TheBoltChronicles'': Implied regarding Bolt and Mittens and their attraction for each other in "The Ship." Rhino and Penny's mom definitely suspect they have fallen for each other, and Penny has at least some inkling.
* In ''Fanfic/{{Home|Aragem}}'', pretty much everyone knows that Hordak and Entrapta are at an intimate stage in their relationship, though they have not gone to third base.
* In ''Fanfic/ADanceOnTheMats'', Rainbow feels a [[AlwaysSomeoneBetter crushing desire to defeat Anon]]. The other Rainbooms can see that [[BelligerentSexualTension she is deeply attracted to Anon even when she can't]].
* ''Fanfic/TheDarwinChronicles'': Before she and Scott Summers got together officially, Jean Grey claimed time and again that she loved Scott like a little brother. Nobody believed her. According to Warren, even total strangers could tell she wanted him.

** During the visit to the regular ''[=FiM=]'' universe during "Crisis on Two Equestrias", damn near everyone in Ponyville knows Lyra has a crush on [=BonBon=] but can't spit it out. Pinkie Pie even has a special party planned for if and when they ever get around to it.
** Pretty much everyone can see Diamond Tiara is crushing hard on Scootaloo... except Scootaloo herself, no matter how much of a {{Tsundere}} DT is to her.
** In the non-continuity story "Nightmares Yet to Come", every pony in Ponyville's weather patrol knows Cloud Kicker has a thing for Blossomforth (it's described as one of the weather patrol's "worst kept secrets"). About the only one who doesn't seem to know is Blossomforth herself, since Cloud Kicker is nigh-unable to talk to her (and yes, the question how then she's interacted with Blossomforth enough for the crush to even get started is asked). [[spoiler:As Cloud Kicker explains, someone who's part of an evil not-cult telling you they've got a crush on you is usually a turn-off.]]
* Almost everyone at Hope's Peak in ''Blog/ThePredespairKids'' can tell that Rina is crushing hard on Peko. Well, everyone other then [[ObliviousToLove Peko herself.]]
* ''Fanfic/DiscoveryMarvelouswrites'': Well, maybe not everyone, but Rex all but suspected that Anakin and Padme were in love with each other and romantically involved to some extent.
* In the ''Fanfic/AvantasiaProtagAU'' series, everyone knows Gabriel and Elderane have feelings for each other except themselves. They think they're best friends. Even when they start realizing their feelings, they don't believe the other feels the same. When they do eventually confess, they decide they have to tell Gabriel's family and all three of them at the same time respond "we know".

Ironically, she doesn't really believe this, and is ''stunned'' to learn that her actions actually did result in the two of them getting together.
* ''Fanfic/BecomingATrueInvader'': Zim and Gaz's attraction to each other, [[BelligerentSexualTension beneath the constant bickering]], is obvious to everyone (except Dib, who is willfully oblivious to it).
* ''Fanfic/JackieChanAdventuresOlympianJourney'': While Jade is seemingly [[ObliviousToLove oblivious to it]], Jimmy and Rachel can both easily tell that Simone has a crush on her.
* ''Fanfic/TheresMoreMagicOutThere'': Rose and Juleka have such good chemistry that most characters are surprised when Juleka says they aren't dating. [[spoiler:As it turns out, they are dating, [[ObliviousToLove Juleka just failed to noticed]]]].
* ''Fanfic/AuntSalem'': Pyrrha's interest in Jaune is so blatantly obvious that everyone assumes they're dating. In fact, when he asks Weiss out, her initial objection is that she refuses to be party to cheating on his girlfriend. Jaune, on the other hand, assumes Pyrrha is just [[CuddleBug a tactile person]], because she has never been shy about informing him about how they are going to study or train from now on. If she wanted to date him, she would have said "we're dating," and that would be that. Nora and Ren are a platonic variant: everyone can see their devotion to Jaune.
* ''Fanfic/RunawayWind'': Several reactions from Leon and Yuffie make it clear that they've picked up on Ventus and Naminé's mutual attraction. Cemented when Yuffie calls the two "Lovebirds", at which point Ven, who has just had his own LoveEpiphany, realises she'll never let them hear the end of it.
* ''Series/OnceUponATime'' [=/=] ''Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse'' fanfic ''Fanfic/SwappingGenres'': Almost all the characters, particularly the Avengers, can tell that Emma and Regina are into each other. Even Groot comments that it can seem like the two like each other.
* ''Fanfic/TheGreatestOfThemAll'': Peter is the only one oblivious to the fact that he's a ChickMagnet, with many of the women in his life being obviously interested in him.
* ''Fanfic/TheSmeetSeries'': By the time of ''Vindictive'', it becomes clear that Masouri's crush on Echo is obvious to everyone [[ObliviousToLove except Echo herself]].
* The ''Franchise/KingdomHearts''/''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'' crossover ''Fanfic/ColosseumOfTheHeart'' applies this to both pairings: Serena's lingering crush on Ash is obvious to everyone except him (though to Ash's credit, he has realised ''in hindsight'' that she had feelings for him during their Kalos journey). Even Sora picks up on it quickly. Meanwhile, the trainers immediately pick up on Sora's crush on Kairi just from how he describes her.
* [[Manga/DragonBallSuper Caulifla and Kale's]] UnresolvedSexualTension in ''Fanfic/ThereWasOnceAnAvengerFromKrypton'' is pretty evident to everyone that knows them. It says something that Caulifa's [[RelatedInTheAdaptation brother Goku]], [[IdiotSavant who's usually dim with everything that isn't fighting]], can see the UST between them.
* In ''Fanfic/EntirelyOutOfSpite'', Lumine barely needs a few minutes watching Ajax and Zhongli interacting together before deciding they're married. When Ajax ''actually'' proposes to Zhongli, the whole town is floored because they assumed the happy couple had already done the deed a long time ago.
* In ''Fanfic/VoyagesOfTheWildSeaHorse'', [[TinyGuyHugeGirl Miriam and Harumi]] are into each other from their first meeting, but are too shy due to their rough upbringing to actually admit it. The rest of the crew can see it clearly, with Ranma being surprised that Miriam hasn't caught onto Harumi's interest in her yet.
* In ''Fanfic/HarryAndTheShipgirls'', Naka and Harder are such close friends that they have no problem taking showers together. Everyone who sees the Sendai and Gato thinks it's only a matter of time, but the duo keep wondering why people say they act like a married couple.
* ''Fanfic/TruePotential'': Besides Naruto and Hinata, there's also Shikamaru and [[spoiler:Kurotsuchi]]. The former's teammates and parents can tell there is something between these two before Shikamaru and [[spoiler:Kurotsuchi]] themselves acknowledge it.
