* [=SenorCornholio=]: You know... I didn't possibly think Creator/DakariKingMykan's work could get any worse than it has. But then I decided to look at ''Fanfic/CyborgDavis'', and... well, the first half or so isn't anything special, but the last few chapters are some of the worst I've seen. I could have ratted off about TK and Kari's unneeded HumiliationConga, but I think there's another moment in chapter 11 that just defies all reason. Long story short, [[BigBad Yami Ninji]] has a surefire way to get Davis' circuits to fail... by [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer filming TK and Kari while they were having sex and showing it to Davis]]. Not only is this just the most blatant form of shock value, but it's almost completely glossed over; it only exists to give Davis no reason to live on, and nothing more. [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment It comes, and then goes.]] And the kicker? Mykan had this to say in his author's notes, and I quote: "I cannot believe I just did that. I had to make Kari and TK DO IT!!" Yep; he really felt that he had to do it, just to make sure his "gets the girl or dies" policy comes into effect at the end. He can't believe he did that? Neither can I, but for [[SickAndWrong completely different reasons]]. If [[Fanfic/MyBravePonyStarfleetMagic Ace Ray's mind rape]] was the straw that broke the camel's back, and [[spoiler:the aftermath of Twilight's death]] was the what crushed the camel's spine, [[SerialEscalation then this outright burned the camel alive and fed its body to Cerberus]].

Fic page renamed.

* SenorCornholio: Since [[Fanfic/MyLittleUnicorn My Little Unicorn]] already has its own page, let's talk about Creator/DakariKingMykan's other crowning achievement, [[Fanfic/TheEndOfEnds The End of Ends]]. It's exactly as much of a wangst-ridden [[AuthorTract Author Tract]] as you would expect, and there are plenty of moments to choose from. I could have put [[BigBad Count Logan's]] ([[TheUnreveal actually Beast Boy's]]) reasons for blowing up Tamaran being that he was upset that Starfire and Robin got together while he didn't get back with Terra, but I think there's a moment that's far worse. A fair warning: this one's slightly going into meta territory. At the end, Logan performs a [[HeelFaceTurn heel-face turn]] and helps defeat [[TheStarscream Dr. Beljar]]...[[DroppedABridgeOnHim and then Logan dies]]. After that fact, some fans (yes, this fic actually has fans) were sad and upset because of his death, to which Mykan responded with his reasoning: [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer because Terra had left him in "Things Change", he is doomed to die even if he is redeemed and Terra gets back with him!]] Let's ignore the fact that Logan was an outright terrible VillainProtagonist to begin with and that plenty of his actions in the story, even as Beast Boy, fall under DesignatedHero more so than his [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo TTG Counterpart]]; Mykan believes he should die because Terra dumped him, and not even her becoming a Titan again and actually coming back to Logan can change that. And for the record, this was a fan of Logan that Mykan was talking to in the first place, that he was being so matter-of-fact towards; this was someone who was probably around 12 or so, being told by this person that "people die when fate is cruel to them". Even as someone who finds this fic to be pretty pathetic and Logan to be a badly written character, I can honestly say that this guy's reasoning is...just no, Mykan...

* Tropers/Vampireandthen: From the desk of Mykan the jackass, I have this to submit. In his fic ''To Be Cruel, Or Good'' what he does here is so outright wrong and sick and disgusting, he has, in my eyes, cemented himself as the worst fanfic writer ever. See, there are at least three, in this thing which dares disguise itself as Digimon. Dear Lord.... The whole, "Kari adopted a child to make TK think she was married and leave her alone" was pretty bad, however, Davis adopted a child as well, and while arguing with Kari, declares that adopting a child was the worst thing he ever did, followed by him blaming Kari for all the misery in their lives as she comforts his crying son, and then...after he tries to blow up the factory with them in it, he, Kari, and the two adopted kids, he still ends up with Kari. He is not punished for being a terrorist. He is rewarded for it. Deactivating the bomb means jackshit! He should not get off scot free for this! But he does anyway. Mykan is the worst fafic writer, ever, period, end of discussion, everyone else can clear off.

* Tropers/ClatoLawa: The ''WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug'' fic ''Bring Me Home''. Truth be told, I had problems with it right from the start, due to perhaps unfair comparisons with other ''Miraculous'' fics along similar lines (the heroes get separated in the aftermath of Hawkmoth's defeat without getting to reveal their identities, only to be reunited years later [[Fanfic/{{Fermeture}} with]] [[Fanfic/BackToUs variable]] [[Fanfic/RuinedWithYou results]]), but I stuck with it in the hopes that the inevitable reveal and Marinette's reaction to Chat Noir's abandonment would be worth it. For the record, [[WhatTheHellHero/FanWorks it was]], and at this point I was honest-to-God excited about where this could be going - in particular, the possibility of Marinette making up for her own mistake in shutting out Alya and her parents for so long. Instead, we get Marinette, having walked out on Adrien, once again refusing to go to anyone else for help, before getting herself into an incredibly contrived car crash for Adrien to rescue her from, thus forcing her to let go of her anger and rushing the two into a reconciliation barely a third of the way through the story. But the moment that pushed the story from merely disappointing to irredeemable for me, was that when Tikki alerts Adrien to the accident, he repeatedly refuses to put his Miraculous back on, even after being told that he's going to need Cataclysm to get her out of the car, because he wants to avoid Plagg's anger. Yes, obviously he puts it on in time and goes on to rescue her, but the fact remains that his first instinct was to once again put the pain that he wants to avoid, above the pain that he knows someone else is going through, which is exactly what he had been doing to Ladybug the last five years and had just learned the consequences of last night. The fact that he needed Tikki to verbally beat this into him killed all the power this would have had as a redemption moment, and since neither Tikki or Adrien told Marinette that part after she woke up, it taints every theoretically romantic moment Marinette and Adrien have had since, or will ever have for the rest of the story.

* SenorCornholio: Since [[Fanfic/MyLittleUnicorn My Little Unicorn]] already has its own page, let's talk about DakariKingMykan's Creator/DakariKingMykan's other crowning achievement, [[Fanfic/TheEndOfEnds The End of Ends]].

* Tropers/{{Peridonyx}}: The ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' fic [[https://www.fimfiction.net/story/194325/the-life-of-death The Life of Death]] starts off promising enough... but eventually enters "cheap shock value" territory when the PowersThatBe reveal themselves as such LawfulStupid [[KnightTemplar Knights Templar]] that they're willing to condemn even drafted soldiers to eternal damnation for "murder" (i.e., being forced to kill out of necessity, self-defense, etc.). And when the {{Psychopomp}} protagonist enters a HeroicBSOD and justifiably calls them out on it, they just shoot her down with the NoSympathy excuse that emotion can't dictate the laws of nature... and that's it -- she just accepts it, no questions asked (albeit with extreme sorrow). After this, the overall setting suddenly became riddled with so much FridgeHorror that I just invoked ScrewThisImOuttaHere, and I haven't looked back since.

Long story short, [[BigBad Yami Ninji]] has a surefire way to get Davis' circuits to fail... by [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer filming TK and Kari while they were having sex]]. If [[Fanfic/MyBravePonyStarfleetMagic Ace Ray's mind rape]] was the straw that broke the camel's back, and [[spoiler:the aftermath of Twilight's death]] was the what crushed the camel's spine, then this outright burned the camel alive and fed its body to Cerberus.

* Tropers/Esq263 A major DMOS for the Literature/BridgeToTerabithia fanfic [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/3655216/1/A-Life-Rescued A Life Rescued]] is where Leslie gets illegal contraceptive implants while traveling in Europe, which alter her mind, causing her to treat Jess horribly and break up with him. After the poisoning is revealed, Leslie is EasilyForgiven, and her relationship with Jess resumes as if nothing had happened. There are quite a few problems with this scenario. First, shortly before their trip, Leslie's mom had offered to provide contraceptives, obviating the need for her to sneak off to some back alley dealer. Second, the breakup is extremely traumatic to Jess, driving him to the point where he actually considers suicide. Once the truth is discovered, and Leslie comes home from the hospital, there is no fallout beyond a lecture from her parents. Especially given the author's liberal use of RealityEnsues throughout the fic, with people behaving in a realistic manner, this situation simply doesn't ring true. Having been hurt to the point where suicide starts looking like a good idea, and having started to build a new life without Leslie by the time the truth is discovered, Jess should not be eager to immediately resume his relationship with Leslie. This troper has seen relationships between adults, let alone teenagers, irrevocably destroyed over less, and Jess would realistically have to deal with not only resentment at Leslie's treatment of him, but fear of being hurt like that again. These feelings have had weeks to build up, and suddenly learning that illegal contraceptives were the problem is not going to magically make them go away. Another factor is Jess' parents. In most of the fic, the couple's respective parents are realistically portrayed not as the supporting cast in an epic child (and eventual teen) love story, but as, among other things, the people primarily responsible with their respective children's safety, who act as real-life concerned parents would. In real life, a teenager whose dating experience drives him to the point where suicide resembles anything like a good idea is either the victim of horrific intimate partner abuse or is unable to handle dating; in either case, this is definitely a situation where the teenager's parents need to put their foot down and stop the relationship from resuming. Instead, the only thing that happens is that, when the two get back together, Jess' father once reminds him of the effect the breakup had on him. Overall, the entire scenario seemed too contrived, designed to artificially add conflict to the story, and it was too extreme to realistically be resolved in any way that would preserve the relationship between Jess and Leslie.

* @/{{Korodzik}}: The ''My Little Pony'' fanfic ''[[http://www.fimfiction.net/story/27033/of-challenges-and-kisses Of Challenges and Kisses]]'' begins as an adorable, humorous and very promising story about Featherweight's awkward school crush. Then, however, the author apparently decided this wasn't interesting enough and proceeded to insert raunchy jokes about sex toys and genitals... culminating in the Dethroning Moment where, out of the blue, Twilight Sparkle and Cherilee have almost on-screen lesbian sex while Featherweight is watching. How in the world could anyone think it a good idea to turn a perfectly good, cute story into a crass sex comedy without warning?

* ''Fanfic/CatTales'': "Pussywhipped". It was mildly amusing when Chris Dee took a shot at Frank Miller earlier in the fic. Okay, you don't like the idea of Catwoman as a prostitute, neither does DC. Less so when she devotes an entire story just to humiliating and destroying the reputation of both the in-universe version of Miller - cleverly disguised by calling him "F. Miller"-and a few other writers, as well as people who like said writers. It comes off as rather petty and self indulgent (especially when one of the complaints is basically the writer going "I don't like that ship, even if it is canonical"), and culminates in Batman personally delivering an AuthorTract to Miller, after the aforementioned public humiliation, and telling him to get out of town. Not a single person, in the Rogues, the Bat-Family, or the wider superhero community, so much as says "this might be going a bit far", and we learn about Miller almost entirely from Selina's perspective, including a monologue about how the portrayals of Cleopatra as a promiscuous woman were the result of historians afraid of her sexuality, [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything wink, wink]]. -Rebu
** PS; one of the things mentioned is that F. Miller's "Unauthorized Biography" of Catwoman has Batman wielding a gun and killing people. Which Batman, originally, did do. Normally, it'd be an amusing MythologyGag, but here it comes off as blaming Miller for something that wasn't his fault. [[note]]Batman does use a gun briefly in TDKR...to save the life of someone being held hostage. It's not clear whether he actually kills the hostage-taker. The only other time he uses a gun in that story is in order to fire a tightrope line. Eventually, he says the Sons of Batman will not use guns, period.[[/note]]

Watching [=ReadingForever=]'s OC Patta grow over the course of the story was not just riveting, but it taught me a few things about myself as well. plus, Plus, I just plain like True Pacifist-end {{Fix Fic}}s. Which is why it's all the more vexing that the story ends on the limpest excuse for a SequelHook ever: Early in the last chapter, [spoiler:Another [[spoiler:Another OC, with no foreshadowing, comes, quite literally, out of nowhere (which is where Patta happens to be at the time). She describes herself as being "from a higher plane of existence" than all prior established characters, canon and fic-specific alike, and prides herself in taking credit for making Frisk go into Mt. Ebbott by shoving them past the DespairEventHorizon. She's outright contemptuous of Patta, and this shows in everything she does, down to whipping out a piece of {{Magitek}} which (in what the exposition kindly informs us is a case of OOCIsSeriousBusiness) never-before-mentioned {{Magitek}}; it bluntly declares that Patta will never be able to succeed at the one thing he is still physically capable of doing anymore.is, and never wasn't, a totally doomed effort. The exposition describes this as an instance of OOCIsSeriousBusiness.]] This is somehow supposed to make me want to look at [=ReadingForever=]'s forthcoming ''Undertale''[=/=]''Persona'' crossover. If anything, it's put me off whatever they may endeavor to do next.

* [=RickTommy=]: ''FanFic/PokemonAMarvelousJourney''. The author's previous work based on the same franchise, ''FanFic/SylviaTheSylveon'', is articulate, well-written, has likeable characters, and doesn't rely on clichés to be good. Oh, and it's a jillion times better than a lot of the other crap I've seen. ''Marvelous Journey'', on the other hand, is an ''extreme'' regression in quality. Seriously, you'd be surprised it has the same author as one of my all-time favourite fics... Why are the mons' names not capitalised? Why do the characters act older (I don't know any 13-year-olds who are/were like the main character's older sister)? Why are there no characters who are as likeable as ''Sylvia'''s characters? Why the obsessive-compulsive names given to the characters? Why the use of real-world brands? Why the overuse of "facepalm" and other words that you would not expect to find in a professional publication? Why the overuse of "Julia thought (insert Pokémon name here) looked more like a (whatever it [supposedly] resembles) than a (what the Pokédex calls it)"? Why the overuse of certain other phrases? Why the incorrect portrayal of certain attacks, one of which is in ''the first chapter''? Why the unbalanced 'mon genders? And why the overall DarkerAndEdgier tone?

* SenorCornholio: Since [[Fanfic/MyLittleUnicorn My Little Unicorn]] already has its own page, let's talk about DakariKingMykan's other crowning achievement, [[Fanfic/TheEndOfEnds The End of Ends]]. After that fact, some fans (yes, this fic actually has fans) were sad and upset because of his death, to which Mykan responded with his reasoning: [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer because Terra had left him in "Things Change", he is doomed to die even if he is redeemed and Terra gets back with him!]] Let's ignore the fact that Logan was an outright terrible VillainProtagonist to begin with and that plenty of his actions in the story, even as Beast Boy, fall under DesignatedHero more so than his [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo TTG Counterpart]]; Mykan believes he should die because Terra dumped him, and not even her becoming a Titan again and actually coming back to Logan can't change that! Even as someone who finds this fic to be pretty pathetic and Logan to be a badly written character, I can honestly say that this guy's reasoning is...just no, Mykan...
