* Steven Williams, known online as ''WebVideo/Boogie2988'' became a beloved content creator known for comedy skits, commentary and gaming videos. Divorcing from his wife in 2017 alongside a weight loss surgery ended up dealing a major blow to his mental health which resulted in a prolonged downward spiral. His behavior in videos, on stream and on social media became increasingly caustic and negative, leading him to lash out against viewers and get into numerous Twitter arguments, which in turn bred a sizable troll community that antagonized him constantly, further fueling his downfall. He began bleeding subscribers and his view counts plummeted as sponsors dropped him, causing financial troubles that in turn fueled his caustic Twitter behavior. This led to what he described as a nervous breakdown in 2019, prompting him to take multiple breaks from content creation. An in-person altercation with another content creator led to Steven being arrested and pleading guilty to a felony, which unfortunately was not a wakeup call. Steven's own videos as well as a documentary released in 2023 provided the shocking admissions that he's nearly broke due to spending most of his fortune on sex workers and bad cryptocurrency investments. He's since committed to rebuilding his channel and reputation but with nearly a million lost subscribers and his videos rarely gaining more than 20,000 views, the damage seems to be done.

* WebAnimation/JoCat, a well-known ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV'', ''VideoGame/MonsterHunter'' and ''TabletopGames/DungeonsAndDragons'' content creator, announced an indefinite hiatus on December 19th, 2023 from content creating. Most, if not all, of this stems from the creation of the video "I Like Girls", a 30-second parody of Music/{{Lizzo}}'s "I Like Boys". The video is innocent and is portrayed as a celebration of all types of women, but a small subsection of the internet decided it was just enough "cringe" to mock, ridicule and even dox him and his family and send them mysterious packages. After an incident where a X/Twitter user decided to take the video, post it on the website and claim that she had made it, it proved to be the last straw for [=JoCat=] and he announced his departure after completing a few projects he was in the middle of.

* WebVideo/{{Nathaniel Bandy}} underwent one in 2016, which had a serious impact on his countdown videos, in which he now refers to this timeframe as the, "Dark Top Ten Age of 2016". Nathaniel was going through financial troubles in trying to keep the rent on his apartment, and as this was around the time of the Adpocalypse, ad revenue wasn't cutting it for him. He had to resort to striking up deals with advertisers to make extra cash, but as a result of this, he had to pump out at least one video every week, causing him to rush almost every countdown he made throughout the year. Rather than sticking to his usual informative, yet witty form of narration, he opted for [[SelfDeprecation self-deprecating]] parody that felt practically unlike any video he had made prior, on top of either being misinformed or deliberately skewing information to get his videos out quicker.
