Trevor Edward Peacock, (19 May 1931 -- 8 March 2021), was a British actor best known for playing Jim Trott in ''Series/TheVicarOfDibley''.

He acted in theatre productions throughout his career and also wrote a number of his own shows.

After several years of playing small guest roles in series such as ''Series/PlayForToday'', ''Series/TheBill'', and ''Series/{{Minder}}'', he was cast as Jim Trott in ''The Vicar of Dibley''. Jim was a DirtyOldMan and tended to waffle on with a long stretch of "No, no, no, no..." before finally getting to the point of what he was trying to say.

After being diagnosed with dementia in 2009, it got to the point where he had to retire from acting and in 2018, moved into a nursing home. He died of a dementia-related illness at the age of 89.
