Tan Twan Eng (陳團英, born 1972) is a Malaysian author. He is the first Malaysian to be recognised by all three of the following: the Man Asian Literary Prize, the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction, and the Man Booker Prize -- all for the same book, no less. (''Literature/TheGardenOfEveningMists'', which won the first two prizes and was shortlisted for the second.)
He studied law in London and practiced as a solicitor in Kuala Lumpur before becoming an author. He has a first-dan ranking in aikido.
