* CompositeCharacter: Winston is a combination of ''two'' rather obscure characters from the ''Oh Yeah! Cartoons shorts'': these being Jorgen's fairy godchild also named Winston, and Vicky's little brother (who was never shown).
* ContinuityPorn: If it happened in the first six seasons of ''The Fairly [=OddParents!=]'', there's a good chance it has been addressed, and sometimes even be relevant to the story! The inclusion of deep cuts such as the Chamberlain's Shadow and ''Winston'' are also good examples.
* ContinuitySnarl: Initially, the series was meant to follow the canon series quite closely, but already in "Timmy Turner: The Life of a Not So Average Kid", some story changes to canon episodes had to be made in order for the story to still make sense. Eventually, the series had to be changed into an alternate timeline after reaching a point where the canon episodes became too different from [=OddAuthor's=] stories.
* ForWantOfANail: A.J. merely gave him and Timmy a chip that grants immunity for the Forgeticin memory wipes; this has ultimately changed Timmy's life for the better, as he grew more wise and responsible, scored with the girl of his dreams, allows for several of his enemies to pull a HeelFaceTurn, and set the path for humans and fairies to reunite once more, [[spoiler:alarming Satan himself]]. Season 8 is acknowledged as the "bad timeline" where A.J. never gave himself and Timmy the chip.
* HeelFaceTurn: Many antagonistic characters are facing this:
** Francis, [[EvenEvilHasStandards clearly horrified after hearing what Remy has done to Timmy]] in "A.J's Doubts", decides to turn himself in and spend time in juvenile detention.
** Norm the genie has quickly realized how much of a lunatic Remy is in "A Friend's Loyalty" and initially just wanted to stop him. But as A.J. treated him with respect without assuming the worst, Norm grew more sympathetic and eventually became one of Timmy's greatest allies [[DeadpanSnarker without losing his charm]].
** After hearing what Remy did to Timmy, Chad became more sympathetic towards the buck-toothed boy, and unlike Tad, tries to help Trixie with winning back Timmy.

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: '''Heavily subverted.''' The series shows several examples of people either recovering from laser-guided amnesia, or never truly being affected in the first place:
** It's revealed in "A.J's Doubts" that A.J. has made himself immune to Jorgen's memory wipe, since he cares too much for Timmy to let the Darkness incident be forgotten. It's also revealed that he made Timmy immune to memory wipes with the same method as well.
** Trixie Tang still remembers the Darkness incident as well; not because she is made immune to memory wipes, but because [[ThePowerOfLove magic cannot affect true love]], as she's in love with Timmy.
** Chester is made to remember everything magic-related once he's assigned with his own fairy godparent Isaac. Same goes for Tootie when she gets assigned with Binky
** Upon seeing the Darkness in "The Darkness Returns", Timmy's parents, Vicky, and Crocker also start remembering everything.
** Phineas hasn't truly forgotten the events of ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerbTheMovieAcrossThe2ndDimension'' as he still has a recurring dream of Isabella kissing him (after all, if magic couldn't interfere with true love, then neither can one of Doofenshmirtz's inators). He fully remembers everything when witnessing a mission debriefing between Perry and Monogram. Of course, Ferb is soon to follow a couple days later.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: A.J. still remembering everything from the Darkness incident was originally a PlotTwist in "A.J's Doubts", but being the first in a currently seven story-long saga, it'd be impossible to keep it a secret for so long.
