Manning Redwood, born Manning Ross Jr., (February 16, 1929 -- July 9, 2006), was an American actor best known for playing Bob Conley in ''Film/AViewToAKill''.

He was born in New York City, and his acting career began on TV, most notably playing the lead role in ''Oppenheimer''. His film debut came in 1980 as a forest ranger in ''Film/TheShining''.

Redwood appeared in a few other film roles around the same time - Harry Weiss in ''Film/ShockTreatment'' (his only singing role), General Miller in ''Film/NeverSayNeverAgain'', and Bob Conley in ''A View to a Kill''.

In 1986, he and his wife moved to Norfolk to live quietly until 2004, when they moved to a nursing home in Surrey due to deteriorating health.

He died of an acute myocardial infarction at the age of 77.
