Jonathan Wilson is an award-winning LGBT+ Canadian actor, comedian, and playwright whose work encompasses film, television, animation, and stage theater.

Having been active in the entertainment industry since 1988, Jonathan Wilson is best known writing the 1996 play ''My Own Private Oshawa'', a semi-autobiographical comedy about his experiences growing up gay in Oshawa, Ontario that was later adapted into an award-winning movie by SFA Productions that aired on Creator/{{CTV}} in 2005. Other plays of his creation include 1990's ''34 Calibre Testing'', 2000's ''Kilt'', 2002's ''Well'', and 2008's ''That Gay Guy''. He's also performed in quite a few stage productions, notably the 2002 North America tour of ''Theatre/TheLionKing'', which won him won a Dora Mavor Moore Award for his performance as Timon.

Jonathan Wilson was also a member of the Toronto cast of the improvisational theater group known as The Second City, later collaborating with fellow Second City performers Kathy Greenwood and Ed Sahely to create a stage show called ''Not to Be Repeated'', in which the three performed a two-act improvisational narrative comedy play in each performance. Said show was later developed into a television series called ''This Sitcom Is... Not to Be Repeated'', which aired on Creator/TheComedyNetwork in 2001. He also appeared on the LGBT-themed sketch comedy special ''In Thru the Out Door'', which aired on Creator/{{CBC}} and Creator/{{Showtime}} in 1998.
