Joan Bogle Hickson [[UsefulNotes/KnightFever OBE]], (5 August 1906 -- 17 October 1998), is a British actress best known for her portrayal of Literature/MissMarple.

She went to RADA in London and first appeared on stage in 1927. She often played comedic or eccentric characters.
