Ivor Roberts, (19 July 1925 -- 5 September 1999), was a British character actor.

His acting career began on stage, taking a brief break during UsefulNotes/WorldWarII where he was in the Royal Navy. He started working in television in The Sixties, not as an actor, but as an Creator/{{ITV}} continuity announcer for TWW and WWN.

His first acting role on TV came in a 1971 episode of ''Rules, Rules, Rules''. For Roberts, his seventies TV career consisted mostly of guest roles in dramas and soap operas including ''Series/CoronationStreet'', ''Series/PlayForToday'', ''Series/ZCars'', ''Series/TheSweeney'', ''Series/EdwardTheSeventh'', ''Series/SecretArmy'', and ''Series/{{Crossroads}}''. He also did some sci-fi in ''Series/DoctorWho'' and comedy in ''Series/{{Porridge}}'' and ''Series/GeorgeAndMildred''.
