Gary Shail, (5 November 1956), is a British actor best known for playing Steve in ''Metal Mickey''.

His acting career began in 1977. Early on, he was known for playing young, punky types such as Spider in ''Film/{{Quadrophenia}}'', Steve in ''Metal Mickey'', and Oscar Drill in ''Film/ShockTreatment''.

In 1983, Shail played Guy Raines in ''Johnny Jarvis'' alongside writing the songs and theme music. For this, he was nominated for the Ivor Novello Awards. In 1988, appeared with Creator/MichaelCaine in ''Jack the Ripper'' as Billy White, a pimp.

Shail returned to acting in 2016 after a break, with a small role in ''Stranger'', as a psychopathic cowboy. In 2021, he was reunited with some of the ''Quadrophenia'' cast in ''To Be Someone''. To this day, Shail still composes and produces music.
