In their early years, they mostly published budget games for 8-bit computers such as the Platform/ZXSpectrum and Platform/Commodore64. In 2020, Creator/TakeTwoInteractive announced its intention to buy Codemasters but by December of that year, Creator/ElectronicArts outbid Take-Two with an $1.2 billion offer to buy them which led to Take-Two giving up in January of that year with the sale to EA being completed on February 2021.
