* Henri Ducard aka Ra's Al Ghul from ''Film/BatmanBegins'' is very similar to [[Film/ThePhantomMenace Qui-Gon Jinn]] both being played by Creator/LiamNeeson and act as the cool MasterSwordsmen MentorArchetype to the heroes. Though Qui-Gon was a good man with a strong moral compass who cared for his protégés while Ducard being really the global terrorist Ra's, wants to purge corruption through any means necessary. Even if it means killing millions of innocent people and he outright tries to kill his student Bruce aka Batman when he stands in his way.

* ''Film/{{Eternals}}'': [[spoiler: Ikaris is a flawed and antagonistic take off of ComicBook/{{Superman}}, being in many ways similar to the ''Franchise/DCExtendedUniverse'' Supes but with his DarkerAndEdgier traits taken to a greater extreme to the point of being an antagonist. Like Clark Ikaris is a FlyingBrick with EyeBeams who has a loyal dark haired wife and is by the most powerful member of their respective superpowered groups. However Ikaris flips Superman's role as Earth's protector on its head as he only safeguards Earth in order to make sure a Celestial can be birthed from it, destroying humanity in the process. Although he does have a HeelRealisation.]]

* In ''Film/SpiderManHomecoming'' we have Adrian Toomes a BadassNormal living a dual life dressing up [[Franchise/{{Batman}} at night as a winged creature and fights using gadgets and whom at some points is seen perching on rooftops or silhouetted by the moon]] and he's played by Creator/MichaelKeaton. Except rather than being a heroic billionaire vigilante like The Dark Knight, he's a greedy working class criminal and villain of the film.

* ''Film/TheSuicideSquad'': Creator/JohnCena [[https://www.cbr.com/peacemaker-sad-empanada-dangerous-stunt-john-cena/ directly compares]] Peacemaker to "a douchey, bro-y ComicBook/CaptainAmerica", both being CaptainPatriotic agents of liberty. [[spoiler: However, while Cap is willing to go against his government and expose its unethical conspiracies, Peacemaker intends to cover up his country's dirty work in order to keep the peace, even being willing to [[KilledToUpholdTheMasquerade murder his teammates to prevent them from exposing it]].]] This also goes for pretty much the kind of character archetype Cena tends to play; Peacemaker, like many of Cena's past roles (right back to [[Wrestling/JohnCena his WWE days]]), is a patriotic military man who cherishes peace and liberty. However, while normally this would be [[TheParagon played as a good thing]], here Peacemaker is portrayed as a delusional killing machine, and others are disturbed by both his dedication to his mission and the methods he employs.
* ''Film/ThorRagnarok'': Hela is in many ways an evil riff on [[Franchise/TolkiensLegendarium Galadriel]]. Like Galadriel she comes from a mighty and "divine" bloodline with her great power only rivalled by her brother (Finrod for Galadriel, Thor for Hela) and they both wield some powerful light/flame based artefact (the light of Eärendil's star and Eternal Flame respectively). Except while Galadriel is textbook LightIsGood, Hela is DarkIsEvil and provides an answer to "what if she took the Ring?" with Hela matching the "beautiful and terrible as the Morning and the Night!" description Galadriel gives to Frodo pretty well. All helped by the fact they're both played by the [[Creator/CateBlanchett same actress]].

* ''Film/TransformersRiseOfTheBeasts'': Scourge, the BigBad and TheHeavy, bears some similarities to the ComicBook/SilverSurfer from ''Creator/MarvelComics''. They are residents of a planet their respective masters targeted for consumption. But whereas Norrin Radd became the herald of Galactus in exchange for his planet's salvation, Scourge sold out his planet to Unicron in exchange for becoming his herald for the sake of power. Silver Surfer underwent a HeelFaceTurn after being defeated and treated with kindness, leading him to stop Galactus from consuming Earth, whereas Scourge here remains irredeemably evil and loyal to Unicron to the bitter end, [[spoiler:even going so far as to stop the heroes from averting Unicron's arrival even when it's guaranteed he's going to die]].
