Cue the New Power saga: years of relationship and character development are thrown out of the window and [[spoiler:Matt]] is revealed to be some sort of teacher that came from Kandrakar to watch over them. Besides the obvious implications (the writer remembered that he's supposed to still love her only the last issues of the saga, in an AuthorsSavingThrow), this choice just raises further questions.
