** Two Decepticon Combiner teams, the Stunticons and the Combaticons, were last seen being locked away in prison, the former following the events of ''ComicBook/TransformersCombinerWars'' after their rampage on Caminus, the later after Starscream confessed to the crimes he made them commit while brainwashed in ''ComicBook/TheTransformersTillAllAreOne'', the latter likewise applying to Airachnid and Rattrap. It's never shown whether they were evacuated or not with the rest of Cybertron following Unicron's arrival, in turn leaving their fates unclear.

** [[spoiler:By the end, Grimlock and Swoop are the only original Dinobots left, the former [[ComicBook/TheTransformersMoreThanMeetsTheEye due to being on Mederi at the time]], the latter due to he and Strafe being the only survivors of the War Worlds crash.]]

** [[spoiler:Thundercracker and Skywarp are heavily implied to be the last Seekers alive by the end, as Ramjet and Thrust are long dead, Starscream died sacrificing himself to activate the Talisman, and Dirge died fighting Unicron. While Acid Storm and Redwing aren't ''confirmed'' to have died, they aren't present following the battle, and Skywarp listed them as being involved in fighting Unicron while not following Starscream. They are also now the only surviving members of Starscream's infiltration unit, aka the original 7 Decepticons introduced in the IDW continuity.]]

* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:Buzzsaw is the only member of the Sanctuary Station team to survive. ** Blitzwing was last seen in the custody of M.A.S.K. in ''ComicBook/RevolutionIDW'', dismembered but still alive. What became of him following Miles Mayhem's believed death is unknown.

* UncertainDoom: A lot of supporting characters from ''Robots in Disguise'' and ''Till All Are One'' (Rattrap, the Combaticons, Airachnid) are unaccounted for when Cybertron gets destroyed. Given they aren't seen on Earth, they're probably dead.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Despite the situation, the option of using Bruticus to fight Bludgeon and Monstructor never comes up, and the Combaticons are utterly ignored by the story.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Before the final battle, Thundercracker’s {{Adorkable}} comic relief status drops entirely; he just solemnly leaves his dog, Buster, with Marissa and asks her to take care of Buster if he doesn’t make it back, then says goodbye to them both.

* TheHeroDies: [[spoiler: The mini-series, and the IDW continuity as a whole, ends with Optimus Prime sacrificing himself to destroy Unicron and secure the future of both the Transformers and humanity.]]

* SpannerInTheWorks: Shockwave’s EvilPlan has big problem; he couldn’t account for people he didn’t know about prior to going back in time. [[spoiler:As a result, he’s OutGambitted by Windblade (who convinces the Visionaries to teleport everyone off Cybertron), Snake Eyes and Prowl (who lead a strike team to attack Shockwave’s temporary base in Toronto), and Stardrive (who’s Wraith powers let her easily tear through his henchmen.]]
