Measured Sleeve is based on [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lansky_Brothers Bernard Lansky]], who served as Elvis Presley's tailor up until the latter's death. However, since the circumstances have [[ForWantOfANail changed]] in the Codexverse, it is Blue Suede Heartstrings who eventually outlives his tailor after he [[DeityOfHumanOrigin Ascends to godhood]], not the other way around.

** Venerable Grace Heartstrings is based on Priscilla Ann Presley, Music/ElvisPresley's wife who is both an actress and business magnate who turned her husband's estate, Graceland, into a tourist attraction. Though here in the Codexverse, [[ForWantOfANail due to things turning out differently]], she's portrayed as Blue Suede's ''first'' wife, as Blue Suede would end up courting both male and female partners after becoming an Alicorn god.

** No one knows where the malicious digital spirit, "[=CreepEntity513=]", came from -- it's speculated that it's either the vengeful spirit of either [[WebOriginal/JeffTheKiller the dead brother of the stallion that created it]], or [[WebVideo/BenDrowned a colt that was drowned and revived possibly by a cult]], or just a demonic entity that's the child of Ispita the Deceiver with an unknown entity.

Even Blackrose herself messed up in huge ways that got even ''non-Changeling deities'' [[WhatTheHellHero calling her out for her wrongdoings.

** As of his [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Deities-and-Divines-Part-52-853196348 second entry]], Blue Suede Heartstrings has gone from a traumatized god of Humility who didn't want to be worshiped or made royalty out of fear, to a proud Prince and a member of the Equestrian Pantheon, changing his name to Prince Caerulus Melodia Equestria. He also marries his long-time friend, Prince Stoltur Skjöldur, the [[GodOfEvil infernal]] Deer-Draconequus god of Pride. As of [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Deities-and-Divines-Part-65-904156163 his third entry]], Caerulus decided to move to Corporatum after accepting/overcoming all of his flaws, leading to him being crowned King of the Corporate Pantheon and changing his name to Caerulus Melodia Equestria-Corporatum. He also, like Twilight/Amicitia before him, [[spoiler:becomes a {{Reincarnation}} of Mana Equus alongside his twin brother, Bossa Nova Heartstrings/Prince Rubeus Stella Equestria, though as reincarnation 'clones' as [[OnlyOneMeAllowedRightNow Mana has only one soul and Twilight/Amicitia merged with it upon Ascending to true godhood]]]].

* MortonsFork: One of the [[CentralTheme Central Themes]] of the Codexverse is that [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome despite attempts made by both mortals and divines to escape the consequences brought about by immutable aspects of the world and sapient nature, they would sometimes end up with the same undesirable outcome]]. In other words, there are no easy ways out of many unfortunate situations, and not even the Magic of Friendship can solve everything.

* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: Generally deconstructed, as doing this to people, even your enemies, tends to have [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome negative repercussions]] in ''Codex Equus''.

*** He would deliver one to a [[FantasticRacism Scion of Hurricane]] for targeting the pegasus inventor, Fiery Flight, and others like her for "robbing" the pegasi of their "rightful dominion" over the skies, as well as calling him a "[[CategoryTraitor disgrace]]" to the pegasi tribe in general for Ascending and supporting Fiery Flight. This would make Steel Barricade ''[[UnstoppableRage snap]]'', as [[EvilReactionary evil reactionaries]] is one of his {{Berserk Button}}s, though it's deconstructed in that while many people claimed the Scion deserved being beaten up, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome Steel Barricade's brothers had to pull him away before the situation escalated]]. Golden Scepter was also [[DisappointedInYou rather disappointed]] in his son for losing his temper, despite having no love for the Scions of Hurricane or tribalists in general himself.

** After spending his entire mortal life and much of his post-life existence fearing his [[AbusiveParents violent drunkard father]], Moon Ray Vaughoof finally [[FaceYourFears gathers the courage to confront Sunny Mane's damned spirit in the Hell-Realms]] thanks to the Trimortidae's encouragement, and [[{{Forgiveness}} forgives him]]. He even makes it clear to Sunny Mane that he's only forgiving him because he wants to be free of his father's influence. This moment is what allows him to Ascend to demi-godhood. However, it's subverted as while he may have forgiven Sunny Mane, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome he still holds lingering trauma from his foalhood abuse]], such as his fear of being yelled at. Fortunately, he would get over this thanks to his adoptive family and Mentálne.

** It's revealed in a Codexverse drabble that Prince Fanged Paw and his brothers, Prince Red Blade and Prince Death Shroud, teamed up to deliver one to Crimson Star to [[KickTheSonOfABitch punish him]] for being an InsufferableGenius, even after Crimson Star was blinded. It's deconstructed in that Crimson Star fell into such a severe depression following his loss of sight and his JerkassRealization that he willingly turned himself into a SilentScapegoat so everyone, including his own brothers, can retaliate against him as they saw fit, [[DeathSeeker not caring if he'll possibly end up dying or not]]. This made his brothers' retaliation against him at this point rather disproportionate and petty, something that would earn them the wrath of their father, who proceeded to [[EmotionBomb psychically show his three sons the torment Crimson Star was going through]], and the cold shoulder by those of their brothers who didn't agree with them. Fanged Paw in particular [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone felt so guilty over what he had done]] that he didn't object to being called out or exiled from the Terran Empire, and initially suffered hallucinations and nightmares over it.

** Blue Goldstone was one. While he's undeniably a good person and emulates Blue Suede Heartstrings' example in humility and kindness, Gold initially shared the same homophobic attitudes as his neighbors that were common in the early Second Age, which partly contributed to his [[BrokenPedestal feelings of disillusionment]] when he learned that Blue Suede decided to fall in love with a stallion, Record Beat. It's deconstructed in that, during a long heart-to-heart with Blue in Audens Manes' Heaven-Realm, Gold realized how bad these attitudes were and apologized to Blue Suede for reacting that way, after which Blue Suede forgave him and encouraged Gold to become better. This [[HeelFaceTurn change of opinion]] led to Gold becoming more open-minded and tolerant, as he is supportive of Prince Shamrock and has protected the Alicorn god many times from people who demean him for being [[UsefulNotes/{{Asexuality}} asexual]].

He gradually grew to care for his fellow mortals after coming into frequent contact with a single Pony mother and her young son, [[IChooseToStay and chose to stay on Equus despite having his memories restored]]. Princess Stitching Time notes that this backstory was published as a ''ComicBook/WhatIf'' issue by [[Creator/MarvelComics Mare-vel Comics]].

* NuclearNasty: Both Dracozillas and the second Roedan are mutants created by the [[FantasticNuke Cloven Mana Bomb tests and waste dumps]]. Significantly, the Clovenists [[NeverMyFault refuse to take responsibility for these incidents]], instead blaming the Equestrians and other detractors for turning their nation into their scapegoat.

MeaninglessVillainVictory: In the Codexverse, the inherent self-destructive nature of all things Evil and Villainous meant that no evil or villainy is sustainable in the long run, no matter how robust or how successful they are. The inverse however is also true for all things Good and Heroic, as they'll eventually fall to complacency and stagnation that makes them vulnerable to corruption and destruction, although it'll take much longer since they're not as inherently self-destructive. The only examples of evil ''and'' good that does not fall to this is when both heroism and villainy exists in a [[BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil harmonious balance]].

** This is not portrayed as particularly good or bad thing, however, and [[YouCantFightFate more an inevitability]]. Indeed, as the narration above continued, while all that is Good would fail and fall apart, this impermanence also ensures that whatever happens, so too, [[PyrrhicVillainy in the end]], ''EvilWillFail''. Not only does it mark the first instance of people coming BackFromTheDead through Ascending as something other than [[GodOfTheDead Death deities]] narrative-wise, it also creates InUniverse concerns among certain facitons that with the return of various renowned heroes from past Ages, the BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil will be severely upset. Vicearch Iniquitous is especially concerned since it presents the possibility of her rival/counterpart, Virtuecrat Fairytale, gaining allies in her quest to replace evil with '[[RousseauIsRight True Good]]'.

** Double-subverted with High King Irminsul. While he knows that he has made a lot of mistakes deep down, he is unable and unwilling to fully acknowledge this because that requires him to acknowledge that he is flawed, which he refuses to do out of immense pride. To compensate, he has convinced himself that he's always right because of his successes as a ruler, and thus everything he has done is done with the best of intentions. In his mind, if there's anything that should be blamed, it's all things 'dark' and 'evil', and the 'impure' non-Deer 'interlopers' who ruined both his family and his people in the past. It's ultimately deconstructed as his stubborn refusal to take personal responsibility for his actions contributed to his failures as both a High King and a father, as many of his children suffered for not fitting his impossible standards, and his people suffered disasters that could've been prevented if he had just swallowed his ego.

** Prince Sermo was also one in his youth. Because he grew up being taught from a young age that being racist was okay, he ended up condoning the horrors that racism brought. The fact that he and his parents were religious devotees of the 'King in Heaven' made it worse. What snapped him out of this was being exposed to people who actively opposed racism like Blue Suede Heartstrings, and watching as people abused/murdered others for being 'different' and controlled public thought through news media. The final straw was learning of how Blue Suede's manager, "Colonel" Hollow Note, psychologically abused him for years, among other things. He now feels deeply ashamed of his previous ignorance, and has been trying to make up for it by following the true meaning of the 'King in Heaven''s teachings and being honest in his newscasting.

* NostalgiaFilter: Deconstructed, mocked, and criticized. Longing for the glorious past is considered partly responsible for the {{Vicious Cycle}}s holding the world back. And if you wear one in the setting, you are likely a deluded EvilReactionary whose efforts to take the world back to the 'good old days' are guaranteed to fail miserably at best, or could destroy the world at worst. The setting strongly advises readers to take those damn filters off and burn them immediately.

** The Breaking of the Masquerade, the moment the Changelings revealed their entire civilization and dropped their secrecy, was this. Not only was it a major upheaval for the world as a whole, it broke the Changeling's status quo that had been in place for aeons. This not only completely changed Changeling society as it was up until that point, it began a domino effect that pushed the more toxic aspects of their culture (such as their unfettered obsession with survival, their MartyrdomCulture, their FantasticRacism towards Dragonkind, and the Royal Changelings' borderline imperialistic entitlement to the right to rule over mortal Changelingkind) into the light, forcing them to be addressed by the world at large.
