After her grandfather finds her and teaches her a valuable lesson about friendship, she quickly befriends Yugi and Solomon. During Season 4, she returns and becomes a member of Yugi's TrueCompanions and accompanies him on his travels.

In the anime, instead of being raised as a tool of vengeance by his father, he has a real grudge against Yugi over Pegasus' loss causing their business deals to stagnate, but he gets over it after the game hits it big.

At the beginning of the Millennium World arc, Bobasa refuses to let him into the Pharaoh's mind, despite his desire to help his friend, because of the darkness within his heart, which we all know is the evil spirit of the ring. He puts on a [[StepfordSmiler smile]], and runs away, in tears.

Along with his love for the Tabletop R.P.G. genre of gaming, he has a penchant for the occult, even making a Duel Monsters deck out of it, which freaks Jonouchi out to no end.
