* GreaterScopeVillain: For Season 1. He never takes direct ArcVillain status, but his company's actions in stamping out Rush Dueling drive the actions of each of the antagonists, including Roa's desire to co-opt it, and Neiru and Asana's attempts to eradicate it. [[spoiler: However he himself works for the Goha Siblings, in particular Yuo.]]

* GreaterScopeVillain: For Season 1. He never takes direct ArcVillain status, but his company's actions in stamping out Rush Dueling drive the actions of each of the antagonists, including Roa's desire to co-opt it, and Neiru Nail and Asana's attempts to eradicate it. [[spoiler: However he himself works for the Goha Siblings, in particular Yuo.]]

* ConstantlyCurious: In the dub, his buzzword was changed from "providence" to "curiosity." Most of the stuff he does is recontextualized as him wanting to satisfy his never-ending curiosity and tinkering with stuff to see what will happen.

* NotSoDifferentRemark: Nail himself views this as being the case between him and Yuga, as he notes that they are quite similar. Considering that both of them are [[ChildProdigy young prodigies]] with strong ideals about dueling and similar personalities, he's not wrong. The difference comes in Neiru being an enforcer for Goha, whereas Yuga is against it.

The difference comes in Neiru Nail being an enforcer for Goha, whereas Yuga is against it.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: The spelling of his name was considerably debated before the official romanisation was revealed, as different fan spellings alternated between "Nail" and "Neil" (the former due to the pronounciation, the latter due to the spelling). The ''Strongest Battle Decks'' revealed his name was spelled "Neiru" in the Japanese version, but in the English localisation for ''Yu-Gi-Oh! RUSH DUEL: Dawn of the Battle Royal'', his name is spelled "Nail".

* XanatosSpeedChess: As his conflict with Yuga escalates, Neiru makes it so that the lost duels are not just limited to the four core characters, extending the penalties to Yuga's allies and Roa. This then leads into a XanatosGambit when Yoshio [[spoiler:duels Mimi.]] As both ultimately register as Yuga's friends, it does not matter who wins or loses; either way, Yuga and the rest of his associates take a penalty each.

* TheMagicPokerEquation: Nail’s deck is set up in such a way as to be an aversion. His ace monster is effectively divided across three specific cards and he must have all three in his hand at once to Maximum Summon it at full strength, so almost every other card he uses allows him to draw a certain number of cards, then send the same number to his Graveyard or back to his deck. With this level of filtering, it's clear that his strategy aims to increase his odds of gathering Yggdrago's pieces through sheer ability to dig through his deck.

* BarelyChangedDubName: The dub adds two letters to his name to make "[[PunnyName Seatbastian]]".

* VerbalTic: "Beep-bop" and "beep-boop" for stereotypical alien noises.

* MrsRobinson: Despite her age she has a crush on Roa. Its played for laughs since she looks his age, and it is more of a fan crush.
* MumLooksLikeASister: She has a son named Yoshio that Yuga reminds her of, and she can pretend to be an elementary school student due to her youthful appearance. She even fits the mothers in apron part of the trope when at home.

** Him dueling Yuga in a "Riding Rush Duel" is an obvious one to Anime/YuGiOh5Ds, albeit with hover bikes.
** His use of WIND monsters is also one to the Yusei Fudo and [[Anime/YuGiOhARCV Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V]]'s Yugo, turbo duelists with WIND monsters as their respective aces.

** The effect of her ace card Uniform No. 39: Junior Baseball King, Home, which allows it to gain 2500 ATK, effectively doubling its original ATK, can be seen as a nod to Yuma's most famous combo of using Double or Nothing! after Utopia negated its own attack to double its ATK and allow it to attack again. Even the name of her ace card’s attack is one to Yuma’s Kattobingu! catchphrase. It's also arguably based on the effect of Number S39: Utopia the Lightning, who uses two overlay units to double its ATK to 5000, similar to how this version tributes two monsters to get the same effect.
** The way she summons Junior Baseball King, Home, is also one towards how Yuma would Xyz summon Utopia.
