* GameplayAndStorySegregation: Despite being a capable fighter in-game, she's never actually been shown physically fighting with anyone in a cutscene. This is taken further in ''Infinite Wealth'', as both Chitose and Seonhee are shown duking it out with various people in cutscenes, while Saeko is relegated to a supportive role (such as catching someone when they're knocked back)

* FauxActionGirl: [[CutsceneIncompetence Only in cutscenes.]] Despite being a bonafide ActionGirl who never runs away from a fight, she's never shown attacking anyone in cutscenes and her role tends to be supporting the others or being knocked down during boss intros.

* ActionGirl: Is the first playable female character in the series who can participate in battles. She never turns down a battle and fights alongside her teammates every chance she can get.

* {{Foil}}: To the original Joongi Han. While the original was a leader, he's instead a loyal follower of Seonhee and later Ichiban. And whereas the original was a BoxingBattler never shown even handling a firearm, he's an assassin who uses mostly karambits and handguns (though he also uses several of the original's boxing moves). Also, while the original was a WalkingShirtlessScene, his body is completely covered as to aid in his assassinations. Their demeanors are also opposites. The original was a HotBlooded BloodKnight, while he's TheStoic.

* OutOfJobIntoThePlot: Most party members have either just lost their original jobs or are jobless when they join the party, due to many [[ContrivedCoincidence unfortunate circumstances]] in ''Like a Dragon''. But [[JustifiedTrope this is justified]], since it allows them to take on all kinds of other jobs in the JobSystem, as long as they're qualified for it. It also serves as a representation of them rising back up from the bottom.

* ActuallyPrettyFunny: When he describes how he and his family were treated like slime and forced to run away, Ichiban can't help but compare it to [[MetalSlime Metal Slime]] from [[Franchise/DragonQuest Dragon Quest]]. Luckily, he understands the reference and doesn't get offended by it.

* BadassLongcoat: His main outfit is a black raincoat. Interestingly, it is reminiscent of the one worn by The Mole from ''Videogame/{{Judgment}}'', though this similarity is not commented on. In ''Infinite Wealth'' he switches it out for a t-shirt since it'd be incredibly uncomfortable to wear in Hawaii.

* TheDragon: To Seonhee.

* NoShirtLongJacket: His special DLC outfit is the original Han's outfit from ''6''.

* CoolShades: Wouldn't be the same without them.

* ActionSurvivor: He's a petty thug, sure, but he's mostly just a cab driver and nowhere near the level of hardened fighter of people like Ichiban or Kiryu. Even his basic attack combo in his default class is just uncoordinated flailing with a heavy tool.
* AffectionateNickname: Ichiban eventually starts calling him "Tomi". He doesn't like it at first, but quickly warms to it.

* CowardlyLion: Shared with Nanba from the first game. He tends to balk at the crazy and dangerous things the party gets up to. He gets over it later.
** He even fits this trope mechanically, as he is inherently weak to getting affected by the fear status effect.

* TheAtoner: For having gotten Ichiban fired from his job, among other things.

** Ichiban is a [[JackOfAllStats Universalist]], with a decent bar of health, above-average MP and overall balanced stats. His unique classes provide a versatile blend of damage, defense, and support abilities that allows him to both fight well and aid his teammates when needed.
** Kiryu with his default Dragon of Dojima job is definitely a Fighter. He has some of ''the best'' normal attacks in the game, high damage output, solid mobility, and is sturdy as expected, but he's quite lacking in his Magic pool and doesn't have any healing or status abilities. Naturally, as a Party Leader, he can respec into any other class to mitigate this.
** Adachi and Zhao are the Fighters, focusing on defense and offense, respectively. Adachi is often the designated tank of the group due to his [[StoneWall great defensive stats]], while Zhao does solid damage in combat and brings many DamageOverTime abilities to the table.

** Ichiban is a [[JackOfAllStats Universalist]]. His unique classes provide a balanced blend of damage, defense, and support abilities that allows him to both fight well and aid his teammates when needed.

*** While a proposal on the first date is indeed an important factor in her reaction, another glaring one in her eyes is that, throughout his confession, Ichiban not once tells her his feelings, or rather, the three magic words: I love you. By the end of the game, he does just that, to which she happily accepts. Up until Ichiban goes overboard once more and reveals the "I LOVE SAEKO" shirt he's wearing under his regular clothes.

* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: By the time of Infinite Wealth, he seems to have adopted this dynamic with Adachi being the manly man to his sensitive guy. Case in point, when both of them are giving advice to Ichiban for his date with Saeko, his advice tends to consist on Ichi showing his sensitive and caring side, as opposed to Adachi's suave and macho counsel.

* PrecisionFStrike: Had a blunt response to Eiji after she got wounded in the arm by one of his men and he [[KickTheDog mockingly referred to as her by her online alter-ego.]]

* TenMinuteRetirement: She leaves the party at the beginning of Chapter 11 after confessing to everything, but re-joins about halfway through it after Ichiban makes it clear he doesn't hold anything against her.

* LateCharacterSyndrome: In ''Infinite Wealth'', he joins the party at Chapter 13, the second-to-last chapter in the game. This could potentially leave him behind in Levels, Job proficiencies, and Bonds compared to the rest of the party. This is somewhat softened by the fact that his starting Hitman class has most skills (sans his last Essence) available from the get-go.

* ActionSurvivor: Eri, Saeko and Nanba have no formal experience or training with fighting unlike Kasuga (street brawling and wrestling), Adachi (judo), Joon-Gi Han (knife fighting, gunplay, and kickboxing), and Zhao (Chinese sword fighting and martial arts) [[note]]Although, in the cases of Saeko and Nanba, the former is skilled in boxercising and the latter has, at least, a hypothetical knowledge of CaneFu, which is why he fights with an umbrella[[/note]]. Doesn't stop them from being just as effective and keeping up with the rest of the team. ''Infinite Wealth'' adds in Eric and Chitose, who are a taxi driver and a housekeeper respectively (albeit ones who've respectively seen action as a former mobster and trained in capoeira).

** ''Infinite Wealth'' continues this, but adds another gangster, a cab driver, a housekeeper [[spoiler:who is actually heiress to a billion dollar company and also moonlights as an investigative journalist]], and of course, the legendary Kazuma Kiryu himself - all of whom [[spoiler:stop a shady government deal with a cult and an upstart yakuza gang.]]

A housekeeper who's acquainted with Akane Kishida that Ichiban meets in Hawaii.

* TheManBehindTheCurtain: The mysterious BadInfluencer Tatara Hisoka is a housekeeper trying to create a career she actually likes and was mostly being fed info by other people at risk of blackmail. She doesn't even dislike the people she's defamed all that much.

* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: Her default outfit has her midriff exposed.

* TheBigGuy: He has the most health of the party and has the stockiest physique. He's also strong enough to lift crates that typically require two people to lift.
