* CassandraTruth: Nobody believes him when he says it, but he's not actually ''lying'' when he says he's a common variety Nopon. All Nopon are allowed to remain TheAgeless exempt from the endless cycle of rebirth and keep their knowledge of the old worlds in exchange for not interfering with the ForeverWar, so Riku is not unique. What ''does'' make him special is that, due to being the son of Riki or Kino, he has personal relationships with the cast of ''Xenoblade 1'', giving him the knowledge and motivation to oppose Z more proactively than other Nopon who lack those same ties.

* MysteriousPast: It's implied that there's much more to Riku than meets the eye. When talking about how the Lucky Seven came into Riku's possession, Noah begins to suspect that Riku isn't exactly who says he is, but Riku feigns ignorance. Later, when Melia is freed from captivity, she apparently recognizes Riku and they share a glance, but doesn't comment on it otherwise. Riku also owns a Legendary Hammer bestowed to him by his Masterpon, of which only seven exist. ''Future Redeemed'' finally reveals that he is related to [[VideoGame/XenobladeChronicles1 Riki]] -- specifically, either his son or the son of Kino, Riki's own adopted son. It also reveals that his Masterpon is Melia herself (or "Melly" as Riku calls her). Riku also explains the truth behind Lucky Seven's creation, namely that it's made of Origin Metal, which contains the souls or data of those dearly important (implied to be any of the previous games main cast).

Whether that means his father is [[Characters/XenobladeChronicles1Protagonists Riki]] or [[Characters/XenobladeChronicles1 Kino]] is not elaborated on. Given that Riki's children are shown to all be yellow or pink like their parents, one of the Liberators in ''Future Redeemed'' is the adult daughter of an NPC who was a young child in ''1'', and Riku's Nopon dance is patterend most closely after Kino's, it's likely that Riku is either Kino's son or a later Riki adoptee.

He's a BigBrotherMentor to the Fei {{Expy}} protagonist and a DoubleAgent who is questioned for his seeming abundance of insider knowledge about the world they live in due to being a close friend of the BigGood overseeing and steering their efforts to successfully overthrow the oppressive system. Like Dickson, he is far OlderThanTheyLook and has close connections to a secret third faction on the outskirts of the main conflict that he keeps hidden for their protection's sake.

* PalsWithJesus: ''Future Redeemed'' reveals that he was around since before Aionios, and was acquainted with both Shulk and Melia (with her even being his Masterpon). {{Justified|Trope}}, as he mentions that his Dadapon once travelled with Melia, with means he's either Riki's son or his grandson via Kino.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He and Melia mutually recognize each other at the end of the game, despite Melia being at least a thousand years old. ''Future Redeemed'' reveals that Riku is one of the few to make it to Aionios with his memories of the old worlds intact, and was part of the Liberators with Shulk and Rex, all of whom operated centuries before the events of the game. He is also revealed to be the second City's seventh Founder, and is, along with Nikol, responsible for the Ouroboros Stones that have empowered generations of Ouroboros.

Likewise, her Silvercoat title and temporary bout of BrainwashedAndCrazy recall Fiora's time as Silver Face, and she displays pointed hair vents that resemble Fiora's and her confirmed child Nikol's. However it's never established whether there is a deeper reason for these similarity, such as a familial or mentor-mentee relationship, or if it's a mere MythologyGag.

Her Ascension Quest involves her learning of a Ferron that's stealing supplies, which she is convinced is piloted by No. 13.

* InsufferableGenius: While she's not quite smug, she's so self-assured and confident in her abilities she can come across as pretty obnoxious. Eunie openly admits to wanting to punch her in the face at times. When she meets Valdi in her Ascension Quest, she seems to take any chance at first to demonstrate her knowledge, partially cause she has a bit of a chip on her shoulder cause of him.

* TheFogOfAges: One way to interpret her words when talking to Ghondor about Vandham and the events of Uraya in ''2'', she remarks that the events happened so long ago that the memory of them is all but gone, but she herself seems to remember everything important about it (to the point of saying that what Vandham taught her about life made her who she is today) so she may simply be referring to how the memory of the Vandham she knew is all but gone from the world (as its likely only she and Poppi remember him).

* TheAce: Described as such for her combat ability, having risen both herself and Colony 4 to Silver Rank when she was only on her third Term, ie. 12 years old and is introduced in a flashback single-handedly destroying a large mech with one attack not long after gaining Silver Rank. [[spoiler:After she is reborn she is noted by Cammuravi to enjoy sparring with the soldiers in the City, but is stated to keep beating them all despite them being much older and more experienced and her being in the body of a ten year old.]]

* BoobsOfSteel: Rivals Monica for having the most noticeable bust in the game, and is a legendary Keves soldier whose abilities in combat and leadership allowed her Colony to rise to Silver rank in record time. She can destroy a Levnis with one attack, and in one scene appears to cleave a whole landbridge apart with a swipe of her swords. Indeed, it's stated that she's more powerful than some of the Consuls.

* BoobsOfSteel: One of the most physical fighters among the female characters with the bust to match. She is the only elder to be shown fighting alongside her troops, and appears to be the leader of said elders despite her young age.
