To Tawnypaw (who spent her life so far being judged for Tigerstar's crimes), this is the straw that breaks the camel's back, and she runs away to join [=ShadowClan=].

One of [=ThunderClan=]'s elders, Halftail is always ready to show kindness to newcomers. When he was younger, he was a warrior named Sparrowpelt, and he mentored Snowfur and Redtail. After losing half of his tail to a badger, he retired because he couldn't balance properly with only half a tail. He dies of smoke inhalation in ''Rising Storm''.

* AnArmAndALeg: He lost half his tail in a fight with a badger and hasn't been able to climb a tree ever since for fear of falling and not having his tail to help him land right. His name was changed upon retiring to reflect his missing tail.
