One of the founding members of the Order of the Silver Hand and so first paladins, Turalyon was Lothar's protégé, and served as his second-in-command through the Second War. While fighting the orcs, Turalyon nonetheless struggled to reconcile them with his religious beliefs; how could [[TheForce the Light]] be all-embracing and all people [[RousseauWasRight essentially good]] while the evil of the orcish Horde existed? By the end of the Second War he finally resolved these doubts, and in turn led the Alliance Expedition into Draenor, the orc homeworld. There Turalyon helped to save Azeroth from destruction again, though he was thought lost when Draenor was destroyed. He was discovered to have survived turned up again in ''The Burning Crusade''; while not present in the game, his son, a half-elf paladin, was discovered alive in the remnants of Draenor.

** Whether it's a retcon or not depends on if you consider he human heritage to have once been canon, or simply a personal belief she held. It's not really made clear.

* NonhumanHumanoidHybrid

The leader and most powerful of the Sha'tar [[EnergyBeings naaru]], A'dal uses his power to protect Shattrath City from various threats. Like all naaru, A'dal is sworn to defeat the Burning Legion. He ([[AmbiguousGender or]] [[NoGender it]]) was ultimately responsible for persuading the Blood Knights (the blood elf order of paladins) to renounce Kael'thas's rule. Not much else is known about him/it.

In ''Wrath of the Lich King'', he/it aids adventurers in helping a paladin infected with the Scourge plague [[spoiler:by [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence sending him to a better place via the powers of the light]] ]].

* LordBritishPostulate: Blizzard eventually had to patch A'dal after players were able to kite [[AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever giant demonic robots]] in to kill him/it.

*[[WhatASenselessWasteOfHumanLife What A Senseless Waste Of Orcish Life]]: In Beyond the dark portal (the game), he pointlessly causes many instances of CivilWarcraft that could have been easily been avoided. A good example being after finding out a Captain of the Bonechewer orc clan wears the [[ArtifactOfDoom skull of Gul'dan]]. Ner'zhul's response, slaughter the entire clan.

*CainAndAbel: A line made at the Sunwell Plateau implies he and Kil'jaeden are brothers. This is almost certainly figurative, but even so.

[[WMG:Kil'jaeden The Deceiver]]

Also known as the Deceiver, Kil'jaeden was one of the three original Eredar lords who were approached by Sargeras and one of the two who joined the fallen titan. While his companion, Archimonde, tended to preferred brute force, Kil'jaeden went the MagnificentBastard route, manipulating, tempting, and even outright lying to accomplish his goals. After Sargeras was banished with the death of Medivh, Kil'jaeden sought to take over leadership of the Burning Legion and prove his worth by completing the assimilation/destruction of Azeroth. Kael'Thas attempted to summon him into Azeroth but didn't finish the job, leaving half of Kil'jaeden's body sticking out of the Subwell. Consequently, he was ultimately defeated (but not killed) at the Sunwell by the combined forces of the Blue Dragonflight and a band of heroes.

*DragonTheirFeet: Specifically in that Sargeras, the canonical BigBad, is defeated before Kil'jaeden; however, this is not a case of the latter slacking so much as the former getting careless.

*GenreSavvy: Unlike Archimonde, it looks like he has read about half of the EvilOverlordList.
*HiddenDepths: Many people would assume he is just like Archimonde, but we are only shown the rest of his character in Burning Crusade.

*NeverFoundTheBody: Kil'jaeden's defeat at the Sunwell technically banishes him back to the Twisting Nether rather than completely destroying him, raising the possibility that he could return.

*YouHaveFailedMe: Averted. He's surprisingly forgiving of his underling's mistakes, [[SpannerInTheWorks as long as they don't completely screw up his over-all plan.]] In other times, it IS actually part of his plan (he expects them to fail), so no real failure there.

**Considering he could empower Ner'zhul with, among other things, limited forknowledge of future events, it's not completely out-there to consider he might have a bit of prophet in himself as well.
