* AChildShallLeadThem: A variant. Heinel's age isn't specified in the anime[[note]]Supplementary material states he's 18[[/note]], but it is mentioned that he graduated from a military academy, and he's old enough to be a commander. This puts him at odds with Zuhl, who thinks that Heinel is too young to lead the invasion. He plots for the death of Heinel in the hopes of replacing him, but is caught in the act and then put through a HumiliationConga that ends with Heinel executing him.

I need a source on Nagahama saying he is "the hero" and for some reason the troper says "instead of Kenichi" as if one trope can't apply to two different people. Calling him "the main character instead of Kenichi" is also absurd since what you really mean is Villain Protagonist. There are also typos where brackets are opened, but not closed. He wasn't a heartwarming orphan either, we don't see him being "heartwarming".

These edits gratuitously mention Kenichi, making it look like word cruft. Also he is not a Kid Appeal Character because that means a character specifically made to appeal to kids; being popular amongst kids =/= KAC. It's like saying Vegeta from DBZ is a KAC when he was made to set the tone for the Namek arc and was Saved By The Fans.

* OpportunisticBastard: Heinel often surveills Big Falcon and their pilots in case chaos ensues and he can capitalize off of it. He also enjoys dangling the possibility of the Go brother's father being alive in their faces,[of course, this does work against him at times, however, such as in Episode 15], and even takes advantage of unexpected situations like Katherine luring Kenichi away from the Earthling base.

* VillainEpisode: Several episodes gave Heinel more screentime than the Voltes Team and actually developed him further as a character. This is one of the unique points of the series during its airing time, where the antagonist was shown to be more than a cackling villain or hero that thinks on how to defeat their opponents, having his own dreams and honor (and outwitting other things aside of the Voltes Team), all while not wholly taking away the fact that he's supposed to be the antagonist and it does actually take away the fact that he's meant to be TheHero of Anime/VoltesV.
